yes, especially when it's done a lot. I also unsubscribed from a comic because they'd post about it daily including the "still streaming come join" parts.

Streaming is nice but don't over-do it. If you stream a lot, like daily it might be an idea to announce a certain time when you stream. Or stream when you post an update and announce it along with that.

Personally I don't use wall posts, if I have an announcement of any kind I add it in the text box when I update an episode. It will probably be read more that way too. And if I really want to make something stand out I'll add a little chibi comic about it and post it under the episode.

Seconding what some people are saying about daily stream notifications or multiple notifications for the same stream— that's just too many notifications! No, thank you.

BUT I do really like it when creators post links less frequently— I would never complain about someone posting a weekly stream link, for example (in fact, I follow one or two people who post about it every week or two weeks, and I really appreciate it!)

Don't click on notifications of people who share that they're streaming a lot. So I might be missing out cool artworks or important notices... I'm not annoyed by it, I'm just not interested most of the time.
I still do think Tapastic should make a separate icon for wall-post notification, because it's hard to keep 'm apart from likes and comments on busier days.

Same here. It won't make me unsub from a comic but as I don't bother clicking on some artists's wall posts (because 99% are just livestream notifications) I will definitely miss some things..

Eh, yeah, I would like it if there were two different "notification" things, because I do sometimes get a little bummed out when I see there's notifications, but it's a wall post. I follow pretty much everyone whose comic and art I like on Twitter/Tumblr, so I'd prefer to get stream notifications through Twitter personally.

itd be annoying if it was constantly the wrong timezone for me, but i dont really mind? if a creator i really like is doing a livestream, i definitely wanna know each livestream.

i think itd be better to encourage subscribers to follow the artist on picarto (or whatever else allows it) so they can notified directly with each stream, then they dont have to worry about clogging their page.

mmm yeah it's not annoying to me but I also haven't followed anyone who's spammed it/posted streams daily. (I don't really see the point in posting about the same stream more than once on tapastic since unlike other sites like tumblr or twitter, your stream isn't getting buried, and that's usually why someone posts more than once on those sites, but I guess some people just get in the habit or just want to make sure people know it's still going?? I'd probably still wind up just ignoring it if this were the case cuz I'm usually too busy to attend streams these days, anyway.)

As others have pointed out, it's the only way to let some folks know you're streaming. They're easy enough to ignore. Well, for me anyway, since I don't check notifications that often in the first place, especially lately (So behind on comments... I gotta make time to respond to 'em before monday), but I could understand someone finding that disappointing if they have the time to keep up with things and are expecting it to be something else.

Haven't seen one so far, but I'm annoyed when I see them on other sites and the streaming is already off! They should make a page where you can find active streams and filter them, like show only authors that you are subscribed to and all streams!

At this point pretty much all artists have fallen victim to the "mark as read" habit of mine because I apparently follow too many artists that over post their streams (every day or multiple announcements for the same stream) So yeah, pretty much because of artists that do this I don't check any artist wall posts anymore =/

I really wish there was another option for announcing livestreams on tapastic.

As a response to those who said "if we're interested we are already subbed to them on picarto", all I have to say is uhhhh nope. Back when I did streams all the time, I tested out not wallposting about it and I always had fewer viewers and people were annoyed that I DIDN'T wall post about it because they missed the streams. As for posting twice about the streams, once again; I recieved complaints were people ASSUMED that the stream already ended and they thought they missed it when in fact it was still running.

Creators can't do anything without someone being grumpy about it '-' Someone complains about something, you go change it. That person is happy, but then another person comes along and complains wanting it back to how it was.

I'm more annoyed when people treat Tapastic updates like it is Twitter or Facebook. One guy I subscribed to, would post three or four stupid one-sentence updates, a day. Needless to say I unsubbed quickly. That aside, i don't mind streaming updates too much, as long as they are not very frequent. Then again, I'm following like, 70 comics, so I guess I cannot complain much.

Livestream links dont bother me. Not gonna say I'm not a person to not watch livestream, I just have a lot of stuff to do myself and right now my attention span tends to be shot when it comes to things like watching livestream.

I'm not annoyed by notifications in the slightest and they're incredibly easy to ignore. I'm amazed people bother to actually unsub artists for this. If livestreams are being posted more than once it means they DON'T HAVE VIEWERS, and big shock, reposting about it when someone new may be online might just have someone else pop in to visit them while they draw. If streams aren't your thing, I get it, but when you're a creator, connecting with your fans and viewers is amazingly easy through streams and makes a stronger fan/creator bond sometimes. If someone were to unsub an artist for daily stream notifications (I dunno maybe they do this for a LIVING and it's a nice way for them to stay focused and connect with viewers at the same time) that are easy to ignore, the only thing I can think is you weren't invested in their story at all in the first place. Because being invested in a story would mean you'd simply click the tab and move on and wait for the newest exciting plotpoint to be revealed, and that you genuinely care about the world and characters but just aren't interested in the streams.

If someone unsubbed me for something as trivial as a lil red notification number, I'd say good riddance since they couldn't be bothered to click the dropdown and move on, and then continue to stream for the folks who wanted to hang out. Because IMO that's petty.

Whoa, there's an important difference between "if we're...." and "if I'm..." I think most of us are merely sharing our individual preferences. This isn't about how doing it in a certain way is objectively wrong. Quietly unsubbing because of too many notifications isn't objectively bad, and neither is posting stream notices every day.

They're a little annoying. It's mainly because of my time zone though, which means most livestreams happen in the middle of the night when I can't watch. Plus, I also receive an email and an app notification for every livestream.

Eh, not really? If they do it all the time then yeah I will get annoyed.

In general though, I get irritated when artists post on their wall all the time like it's twitter.
