I LIKED what they did with the new Jungle Book, and we were eager to see that in theaters, only because the original 2D animated one did not hold up my interest and did not age well for my husband.

We'll probably watch Lion King if for the visuals alone, but we aren't chomping at the bit for it since the original is still so good and holds up today. Whether we watch it in theaters or streaming depends on our schedule.

On a different note, unlike a lot of people, I'm not as interested in live action Mulan. (WHY did they give her a sister???) I'm actually more interested in Maleficent 2 since we liked the first one.

Honestly I'm all for doing a more respectable representation of ancient chinese mythos/history but I could still not be interested in the movie. Why instead of mulan couldn't they do the story of Chang'e and Hou Yi instead? That would've been new and interesting. I love Chang'e. Moon princess with a bunny. Fucking me.

well, I hope it will be good. Considering all the things Disney owns it will offer a lot. And $7 a month isn't bad (at least that's what they said it'll cost last update).

Not in theaters... so far none of these live action movies warranted me cashing out to the theater so far. the only live action disney remake im willing to give a chance to is Mulan at this point cause its the only one not banking on nostalgia so far

I’m prob never gonna see it cause the original will have better animation. I’m hearing a lot of complaining about how the lions are “too realistic” to show any facial expressions and as an animal lover and artist who draws animals it feels more that they just don’t know what there doing then it being “to realistic.” Animals have plenty of expression if you know what you’re doing.

Fuck no. The only Disney movie (and not the other companies under disney) I'm watching this year is Frozen 2 (because it looks cool, and also I probably won't see Toy Story 4 in time until it gets taken out of cinemas).

I've seen the clip of Hakuna Matata and everything just looks so... lifeless.

Yeah, see that's what I was afraid of. You just can't do that kind of stuff in live action...all the vibrancy and playfulness of those scenes gets lost when you confine them to the laws of reality...

Anyway, I'm surprised to see that the poll is so negative. XD If this is reflective of the general moviegoer population, things are not looking good for this film...

Hell no. Disney makes this shit for cash grabs to prey on the casual audiences. I honestly think this is the result of them getting too big, they know what works and they don't give a shit about characters or art because they don't have to. It banks on our nostalgia because "oOh tHe CgI lOokS sO pReTty IT's A defINTivE nEw exPeRienCe." I feel like I'm getting scammed, so I just torrent disney products as a whole now. There is no actual heart in these products at all, and every interesting thing about the art directions of the originals are thrown aside for lower quality music and boring cinematography and inexpressive "reimaginings"
