Are you new here? - Old advice that doesn't work on Tapas anymore

Mhm, I don't know, I've been here a while and I want to start a new Comic soon (since I learned a lot from making mistakes with the first.
But I have barely any subs and views on my running Comic are also extremly low...
Its really depressing putting in Work in something and not even get feedback in any way

As somebody who is just publishing his first comic, I'm very glad this post exists! I'd add something like...
20. If you're a brand new creator, share your comic/novel with friends and family who will support it and share it themselves. It helps to stretch your readership and start your work off strong!

Ask people you trust to be honest to read it and give their thoughts. Connecting with other creators is also great for this. For my comic, I ask advice from another more experienced Tapas creator that I met through Instagram. He had great comments that addressed some of my worries.

Hi newbie here,
Thank you so much for this! It's awesome.
Technically my account has existed on Tapas for a long time, but I haven't really had a series. My first "series" was a bunch of plot-less trial and error to figure out the site and what I wanted. Those have since been deleted and I have recently started an actual series. Which you are free to check out or not, it's called Psychedels and it's about mushrooms because I think I'm funny.
Anyway, I've noticed the really amazing popular comics have these incredible covers. I don't remember being promoted to chose a cover for my series? I assume it's not the same thing as a banner or a thumbnail. I probably just missed it and can go back and find it. Other than that, do you have any advice for covers? It's tough not to judge a comic by it's cover so I want a good one.

This is great advice for new creators. It's hard to build up a following but with this I think I just might be able to pull through.

if you're referring to the larger "print-style" covers i think those are restricted to premium comics and novels, at least as the series image; but you can still have one as the first episode of your series or posting it with the first page(s)

if you're looking for pointers on what makes for an appealing thumbnail or banner there's a few threads spread about here on the forums but i also recommend giving this Medium article by Tapas a read

I want to start a Novel series called From the Ashes. My problem is that this site is known for comics. Kinda scared to go forward with a novel, as they have much less success here.
