[image][image] Sketches from the last two days. It has been a LONG time since I've had the motivation to even sketch like this (thanks for making this thread btw). This guy is based off an idea for a story I had where he owns a bakery but its also a trap house  I'm in love with him so I might act…

Soooooo it's been a little over two years since I posted the first episode to my first web comic... Needless to say, we are starting from scratch here. I loved my first episode but I've decided coming back to the comic, that a revamp would be best in terms of where the story would go as well as the …

The same goes for you as well. I greatly appreciate your amazing response. The examples you were able to show gives me an idea of an effective process so thank you!

This is exactly the advice I was looking for! I cannot thank you enough for such a thorough response! This will definitely help in crafting the title.

Its very professional looking. Its definitely a designer take, I'm interested lol

Im talking about the actual art for the words of the title. I don't know how to make words look artistically decent for a cover page. I ended up cropping out the title on my cover art because it just wasn't good enough for me. If anybody could enlighten me, I will be eternally grateful!:pensive:

This is cool! Props for this topic My name is Jake, I want a cool alias like everyone else tho (KanashiCat is a mouthful). Im in high school and I just started a comic (super duper excited). I like meeting new art friends here, I like snacks.... um...yes. SO wish you the best for your work!

Yeah, I don't think you've mentioned any series you have. I'd love to check something out if you have it Bones. (Morning coffee and forum time )

I was just reading "Leftovers" before I read this! I really appreciate the advice, Im still so new to this so direction like this is great! I usually do reference pages for emotions/angles/etc. in a little sketchbook just cuz its easier for me to get work done quicker.

OOOoooh I like the new design a lot. I'm not a color expert in the slightest but I felt like your original would have been better with some saturation tweaking.

I made my room a bunker, venturing out for occasionally snacks

Thank you! Im really excited for everything to come!

Sad Boi moves to city, life BOOM evil fight adventure the end... :relaxed:

Yes its the drawing program I use. So like, my paint bucket when selected has different functions (flat, gradient, etc.) and there is a toggle switch that changes the "tolerance" level from 1 to 255. I don't know what it exactly does.

Wacom Intuos Pro, SketchbookPro for Mac. Inking pen for line work, I hope that answered your question??

Just started, always could use some extra love

This character that will appear later in my series is in the developing stages. I'd love color scheme and or design suggestions(Post or edit). The character is a young boy, roughly 7-10, and is a genius prodigy character (he's not smoking, its a candy). He's usually stoic and serious. He will be …

You picked a great period piece!!! Your panels are done really well, that goes for your pacing as well. Shorter episodes do seem to be what most creators stick with on Tapas, as others have noted. A note that I was given a while ago when working in digital was: try avoid "chicken scratch". Basically…

That's actually a primary concern! Im only with working 4-5 pages due to time, so I'm not confident in my pacing or dialogue yet. Advice on my prologue would be greatly appreciated! (I can't message now lol, still learning how the forum works)

It's definitely nice though, it contrast the other armor pieces well. Circles are a good symbol for fluidity too

I sure do! Ill stick along to see where it goes, I just published my first comic yesterday if you're interested.

Honestly, I feel option 3 works the best for the color scheme and over all look of the armor. Its more simple than the elemental kanji set, so it will be easier when drawing your panels. The elemental patterns just have this geometrical resonance with the armor shapes that I feel would look really g…

Anyone who is willing to help a small new series by being an advisor/critic. I'm hoping to learn what I can from the creator community and establish connections! In return I will pay you kind compliments ;o I want to throw myself out there so I can fully experience this new world.

Ask people you trust to be honest to read it and give their thoughts. Connecting with other creators is also great for this. For my comic, I ask advice from another more experienced Tapas creator that I met through Instagram. He had great comments that addressed some of my worries.

As somebody who is just publishing his first comic, I'm very glad this post exists! I'd add something like... 20. If you're a brand new creator, share your comic/novel with friends and family who will support it and share it themselves. It helps to stretch your readership and start your work off st…
