Picked "maybe, I'm not sure." . back in highschool, boys used to tease me for being ugly. Crushed my self esteem . But now people don't ever comment enough on my appearance for me to assess what I really look like. I either look better now or people just don't care.

But personally, I like how I look. I don't tell anyone but I secretly think that I'm cute, doesn't matter if it's not true lol.

Haha, India is one of the rare places where I find both genders equally super attractive (I'm a Latin/Germanic French).
I have no idea if it's the same for every bi /pan ( or everyone, in a esthetic only way), but I generally have different preferences for gender/origin combinations (eg. Spanish girls are generally attractive, Spanish guys generally not). It does not matter much, as I never chose partners based on looks only, but it's something I've always wondered. Are all bi/pan like that? Probably not, everything must exist. I'm curious, though.

There's always an exception in every case.
non-Indian straight girls usually turned off by Indian men's weird English accent IRL, and about the straight Indian men online, most of them are overly thirsty which is a big turn off for most girls. (and it only covers those IRL extroverts, not sure about the introverts one)
and it's only for the straight ones since different sexual preferences may lead to a lot of different results, who knows if non-Indian gay men or non-Indian bi girls find the Indian men super attractive.

Honestly I had no idea people could be so easily be physically repulsed by non-physical characteristics and a small online subsample. It makes no sense, or it's pretty much saying the average straight girl is severly racist

I talked about preference and attraction tendency, tendency means there are exceptions.
Attraction preference is not a racist thing, social prejudice is.

I tend to do bad with guys and straight girls, but pretty well with lesbians so...
depends on who you ask. I'm not to most people's taste, but I do fine for myself.

Oh no, I don't consider the lack of attraction to be racist at all (otherwise, I would be calling myself racist; and more importantly, I'm totally aware there is much more to attraction than similarities/ differences).

It's the idea that the behaviour of a small subsample of a nationality/ethnic group can impact people so deeply to actually alter their esthetic perception that I find very problematic.

Actually, it's something I'm very confused and curious about, because I come from a country with little racism against Indians, but also, little mixed couples with Indians even when they are available. And now I'm in a place with strong prejudice against Indians (sometimes openly), but a lot of mixed couples. It does happen in my home country with other communities, but I came to understand how it works, why etc. I'm not at this stage yet in this specific case we're speaking of.

Also bi/pan person here and yeah, it's similar for me. When speaking about simple attraction from the way a person looks I have preferences for women from some ethnic backgrounds and men from others, even nbs fall into that. There are also cultural habits that a person might have, that can be super attractive, tho people need to be more careful to not fall into ideas of the "exotic foreigner", which just leads to bad stereotypes all around.

I think it's pretty normal. Straight people aren't attracted to everyone of the opposite gender, so they have preferences. With pi/pan people there are just more variables to that.

I guessed so, but I was curious. That's not a subject I see discussed a lot (maybe because it can easily degenerate toward less nice things, maybe? As you were noting about 'exotism' etc... maybe).
In my case I think I know why I feel like that, and it has more to do with what kind of features I like associated together, but I could imagine people getting upset at me for it too, because the combinations of features I like most are those that create an individual that I don't perceive as too stereotypically gendered (I insist on "I" : in my eyes, only). I see how saying that could be badly interpreted. But well, preferences...

I think I'm at least average if not above average? I don't go out of my way to look beautiful, but I do care about my basics like hygiene, sunscreen, good sleep, and healthy diet. I think sunscreen makes the biggest difference because my face is still smooth and fairly wrinkle free, freckle free, and basic hygiene and skincare keeps me low on the acne and acne scarring.

Positives are good to think about too!

Not true. It's a mixed bag. I've been in India for ten years now, and I've maybe been attracted to two or three guys based on looks alone (and I have peculiar taste, to say the least). There are good-looking guys, but their attitude is what turns me off. I live in a more old-fashioned part of the country, and traditional gender roles are screwing women over nowadays. Women are expected to study and earn, but they're also expected to do the housework like the homemakers of the generation before them. I'm not saying this is true for all Indian families, but this is how it is in all the households I've seen.

I'm of the opinion that if you're an adult who eats, you should know how to cook. At least enough to keep yourself alive. Most of my male classmates disagree with this statement. The few who agreed with me remained my friends.

But Indian men being ugly. You, my friend, have never seen Vicky Kaushal.

To answer the original question of this thread: I'm average. Just another brown Indian girl.

I'm not saying Indian men are ugly, in fact, there are hot guys in Bollywood, I only said that I heard only Indian women find Indian men attractive from a lot of conversations with different girls from different parts of the world,
not attractive ≠ ugly.
not attractive means it's just not appealing enough, not appealing is based on preference.
but sometimes people think that they're ugly just because their crush doesn't find them appealing enough.
