Oh she's so pretty! And I love her wings. Def going to check out your story when I have time later

The love interest in my story Shadowbird, Vida, actually started life as a Tam Lin OC in a story I was writing with a friend! My friend's character was Janet.
I also have a relatively minor character who was inspired by a fandom interpretation of Tolkien's Dark Lord Morgoth... XD

Soleil from my comic is very loosely inspired by Netflix's Carmen San diego - mostly because it inspired a dream that I took her from, aha. Otherwise, I don't think any of my comic characters have any specific inspirations, though I've got other characters from other (unpublished) stories that are loosely inspired by other characters from other works

Soleil below! You can sort of see the resemblance in looks, I think. Though I don't remember enough of the show to say how similar their personalities are still.... besides being criminals aha

I mean,

The concept of my novel came from a tumblr thread. It was about a town that was starving and so ate a dragon corpse to survive, and that led to dragon children being born. I really liked the concept, so I played around with it and came up with my story!

I accidentally based my character, Victor, off of BOTH Mob from mob psycho 100 and Saitama from One Punch Man. (Not his physical appearance but his character) I guess I just liked One’s writing so much I subconsciously copied it.

An accurate depiction of how I felt when I realized this:

Over the time I've spent developing my main character, Kaito, I've ended up drawing inspiration from a bunch of different anime/series that caught my interest. If I had to compare his initial concept to one primary inspiration, I'd say it was Han Daewi from The God of High School.

At times, their personalities can be somewhat similar, and I'd definitely say Kaito's use of martial arts heavily references the hand-to-hand combat in The God of High School.

I'll leave the link to my novel down here if anyone's interested in checking it out!

I didn't base Maor on Giovanni from 'Night on the Galatic Railroad', but there's similarity.

For Sanghee I go for the ugly braty kid look in Konohamaru ('Naruto'). Both are hero wannabes.

When I design comedic "chad" character like Tery, much reference do take from Rotten Robbie from Lazy Town.

Sanwi is 100% intentional homage to Baby Sinclair ('Dinosaur').

I agree with bumbleybee; her wings are really nice! And I'm a sucker for pink hair. She's so cute. :heart_01:

For my own, human guy is nothing burger. He's not based on anything. But the other character was 100% inspired by Gale from Rogue Galaxy. This stupid side character has been living rent free in my head for 20 years.

Thank you so much! I like your characters design as well, he looks cool

My story is based on Marvel and DC comics so I have taken a lot of inspiration from them.

This is the main character. He is heavily based on Batman and Daredevil with a bit of Superman in there too.

This is a villain named Chrome. The idea for the character design was supposed to be referential to Metallo from Superman

His personality is that of a ruthless killer like Bullseye, Joker, Reverse Flash. I also had the image of Doomsday in my head while making him.

A lot of my characters for this comic are pastiches of classic superhero characters. Maybe a bit uncreative lol.

Oops! I just realized this is a novels writing topic. Should I take my post down? My thing is a comic.

A certain character (who will be introduced in the next chapter 🤭) is somewhat, sort of subconsciously, inspired by Fern from Frieren: Beyond Journey's End. See the semblance?
Oc, Mae. :point_up_2:

Fern. :point_up_2:
Nonetheless, I try to keep her unique.

Suen is based primarily on Robert Olmstead from Shadow Over Innsmouth, and Usagi Tsukino from Sailor Moon. Neither one of those is obvious in her design, but her personality is slightly inspired by Usagi and her being a moon associated magical girl is heavily borrowed from her, and her status as a protagonist in a very fishy town who is researching a very spooky family’s history is taken from Rob.

My main group of girls are inspired by the Disney Princesses

Matts' design and a little bit of her personality (her bratty side) is loosely based off of Alois Trancy from Kuroshitsuji

-I guess the whole concept of my story is based off of Kuro (when I wrote the original story it was like a fanfic AU but not really because it was for a creative writing assignment lol=)

My inspiration for my characters comes from all over the place. Like real world stuff, stuff I've seen, parts of me, but when it comes to what characters in media that helped inspire them I fell it's kinda like this...

In order from top to bottom:
Sadie Lurker (AKA Knife Teeth)
Trudy Lurker
Cody Blake
Brooke Blake

Hi friend  never played embers of hope both Mirabilis and Mirella look awesome. Love the two renditions of her that the artists did and love the butterfly wings and pink hair combo :art:

Ev based on personal phases in life and having the cold one day and wondering if you could turn your snot into a weapon XD

The boyish sillyness and stylish-ness of some of my fave childhood characters were deffo had an inpact:

Dante from Devil May Cry
Peter Pan
Zidane from Final Fantasy 9
Jack Frost
and the stinky-ness of Pig-Pen from Peanuts too prolly, our parents used to call us that when we didn't want to bathe XD
some Jack Sparrow too with the unpredictability and spontaneous-ness XD

.
.
.

Dr. Princeton is a naughty doctor spin on Superman, he's got that look and the super flight and super strength plus the ability to cure others via cold plasma, loosely inspired by another fave Sub-zero from Mortal Kombat (who also looks like superman). In the story he's struck by vampirism and requires blood in return for cold plasma services, he's meant to be campy and silly something like King Julien from Madagascar. He also turns into a statue in daylight and only animates at night, inspired by Roman & Greek statues and just full-blown hunky campy-ness XD

I don't think any of my characters are based on other characters but some are loosely inspired by real people.

In "Damsel in the Red Dress" both my ML's mother (Mrs. Moon) and my FL's mother (Rosa) are loosely inspired by my abuela in certain ways.

Andrew's AuDHD is inspired by my older brother's "nay-DHD" and "Not-ism" as he calls it.

In 'Sketchy Business' Texas is loosely inspired by me.
