Been a while since I made a topic huh?

Let's do a thread about art evolution! Show me your art over the years (or months or weeks if you are a new artist).

Goal of this thread is secretly to inspire artists hopefully and show we all started somewhere

I'll start and I'll use Danivere to showcase my growth

2019:

2020:

2021:

2022:

2023:

Ooooh that's a cool evolution! Totally inspired me to go and check out your stuff (and get stuck reading for an hour instead of working, eheheh), nice!

I don't exactly have one character who goes through the years, but let me try to collect some stuff... I'll go in twos, otherwise this thing will be too long.

2010 -

2012 -

2014-

2016-

2018-

2020-

And finally,

2023-

Ok, time to dig deep down into the depths of my deviantart gallery
some of the oldest artworks I could found that I could find online

2009:

mouse and... I think photoshop...

scanned lineart and painted (most likely) in photoshop

some less eye-bleeding stuff from 2016:

how obvious it is that I've never been a fan of drawing backgrounds? 'xD

and finally some current stuff:

ok, bonus - comic making progress

2009 (first version of Vampire Prince)

2013 - doujin phase:

and current:

EDIT
ehm... does anyone know how to unstretch deviantart links?
EDIT 2
you don't use them, you upload everything from your harddrive...

I really need to dig out some of my first drawings for threads like these but theyre all packed in the basement :cry_01:

But I got these of my comic characters, helps me on days when I feel like I struggle to much, that I do improve a little every year :sparkles:

First one is 2013, the first lil idea of the characters was born

This was 2016

And 2020

Oh God, it's naked baby photo time. Alright, let's do this!

2018- the whole gang.

2020:

2022:

i had my drawing tablet since 2018 but started to actually use it since 2020

2021

2022

2023 (yesterday)

(this is all the same character)

Here is how my OC Anna changed in 14 years. She still has violet as main dress color and I found a way to draw her hair.

This is a pretty cool idea! I've been practicing drawing manga for a long time now and it's always so fun and nostalgic to go back and look at my old artwork. I believe I've evolved considerably since the start and I'm quite proud of my progress! Hopefully I'll get even better in the future.

2019:

2022/2023:

2003 The anime-ing

2007 ish oc take over

Here’s mine

I’m been drawing for a while but I started digital art around 2020

2020

2021

2022

2023

I've been drawing her for almost 10 years now, and she's gone through an enormous evolution!

Man it’s times like this I wish I could find that Undertale fan comic I drew on notebook paper in 2015. It was my first attempt at a comic, and of course I ended up throwing it away like the goofy goober I am

Anyway, here’s the first serious drawing I ever made:

That was in winter of 2015.

All my sketchbooks from 2016-2018 are at home, so unfortunately I can’t share anything from those. But here’s a page from the first webcomic I ever attempted back in late 2019:

(That comic never got finished, but I am planning on rebooting it soon)

For a while in 2020 I tried doing a sort of slice of life style strip. Here’s some headshots from that:

From 2020 to around the very end of 2022, I pretty much only did lineless art. Here’s one of the last lineless pieces I did, in September of last year:

And now here we are with some of my work from over the past few months!

Does the guy on the right in that last one look familiar at all? Told ya I’d be rebooting my first ever webcomic soon! ;^)

And just as a little treat, here’s the most recent thing I’ve drawn:

It's for one of my upcoming finals, so it's technically still a WIP, but I don't think I need to do much more with it beyond tweaking a few things.

And that's my art journey so far!
