Hi everyone, thank-you so much for your replies! It's been great to meet so many awesome people but I've found the right writer and am closing this thread.
I'm also really sorry if I haven't replied to your PM yet - I didn't know there was a maximum number of replies per day but I am extremely grateful you took the time to read and respond. I'll get back to you when the forum allows me.
Thank you all!
@Lazuli Thank you so much! Sorry things didn't work out this time but I really appreciate it. I'm cheering for you!
Hi! Hello! I'm so very, very nervous posting this...
I'm Hattori Art.
I'm a half Japanese Australian freelance artist/animator who loves fantasy, magic and am a massive fan of anything to do with yokai. My style is a fusion of manga and random western elements? I guess?
I've been a bit down lately and need to shake it up! I've had a webcomic story for ages but it's long (way too ambitious for a first webcomic) so I'd like to start with something short and sweet.
Ack! Also - I am new to the forums so please forgive me if there's something I've messed up in this post.
Project Details / Pitch / Sample
I'm wondering if there are any writers out there with a spare short story they'd like me to draw?
I'm best at drawing fantasy, especially - but not only - dark stories. Magical realism is awesome too! I'm looking for a story that's around ten pages or less in traditional graphic novel format...I don't know what that translates to in webcomic form.
I admit drawing nature IS MY LIFE'S HAPPINESS but if you've got a story with vehicles (why am I so scared of drawing them) and architecture and we mesh well, I'll climb any mountain for your story. LGBT+ stories are (of fricken' fruitcaken course) welcome.
I am happy to illustrate violence and gore as long as it's not gratuitous. Implied sex is fine but anything explicit isn't.
I might manage to work on something slightly longer if it's a story with an awesome twist or plenty of cool magic. Again though, I'm new to webcomics and want to be realistic about how much I can manage.
Thank you so much!
Paid or non-paid? Collaboration?
Um, unpaid. I'm really sorry.
I'm hoping this collaboration can be something we both own and are proud of. I am doing this for fun and personal improvement, but if we work together I promise to treat you and your story with great respect. Unless you just want to hand it over and then get a finished product at the end I would like to have your input as it progresses and to get feedback from you. It would be great if we become friends and work together in the future!
Timeline
As I do have commissions and (AGAIN, sorry) I'm very new to webcomics I think this might take up to four months. I'm happy to set up a more detailed timeline if we work together!
Skills needed
It would be preferable to work with someone who has made a webcomic before, but not necessary. I'm grateful to hear back from you either way. If you haven't, let's figure it out together!
If this sounds good to you and you're happy to share your precious, precious story, please PM me and hopefully our styles mesh really well!
Thanks so much for reading all this. Let's create!
(edit) I'm a moron who forgot to add example of work >_<
