Hi everyone!
I'm back again, looking for a writer to work on a webtoon series with.
My previous webcomic collab was put on pause and has now been turned into a novel-only, so I'm looking for someone to work with again!
This time I have some specific things in mind, please respond to this post and DM me further details if you comply.
(Also, I'm going to keep this open for a couple of days so you can work on your pitches and ideas without rush, I'll be going through everything before finally deciding!)
Collaboration Project - Webcomic series
The last time I created a post requesting for a writer was back in my school days, and since then I've gotten into my dream college (heheh) and I was so obsessed with that that it took me a while to start prioritizing other things in life as well.
Anyway, I'm now a full time college student majoring in Architecture and do some freelancing part time, of illustration works (mainly anime stuff), and it has proven to be a boon for me since we get some pretty cool softwares here to do our academic work and I can use those to make residences and backgrounds for our comic. I also play competitive esports (not signed to any organisation tho) shooter stuff. I can help out with editing the script and dialogues as well before/while drawing them out
I've just completed my 1st year and am learning to balance things better, so I think this would be a good time to start on a webcomic that I've always wanted to illustrate. I'm not taking any sort of payment from my to-be-writer, and I want our comic to be free and accessible to everyone. But if we ever generate some ad revenue anyway, it could be split into however much you want upon negotiation (it would be better if we sort this out before starting). Another thing, since I'm not taking any payment and have to put in a lot more hours compared to writers, I want to publish the comic from my account, and will give you full credits everywhere possible, and you are most welcome to link to it in your profiles as a work of yours.
Please reply ONLY if you are okay with this.
I'm still very new to this webcomic thing, so please guide me throughout! You don't need to have any prior experience at all, we can learn together. I do want to gain recognition for both of us through this project, and (in my delulu) want to make it one of the most popular ones on the platform someday. Art style matters a lot in this regard, so I'm ready to put in all my efforts to make it as eye catching as possible. I'll do practice drawings as well in the meantime so my illustration doesn't disappoint. From you, I'd want a gripping story to complement.
Your story could be ongoing or finished, I will accept both.
Genres I suck at: Horror, Gore, NSFW, etc.
I'm open to all other genres, so feel free to pitch in! I feel that romance, drama, slice of life, etc. garner a good amount of attention on these platforms, so naturally I'd prefer those.
The publishing sequence could be once in two weeks on Sundays, I unfortunately won't be able to do weekly because of academic pressure. Please know that twice in 3 months I'd need to have a break for a week because of my mid semester and end semester exams, although I'd try my best to make extra chapters beforehand so that the publishing sequence doesn't get disrupted. Also, during my semester breaks and vacations, I'd be able to do some extra work so consider a few episodes to be published one a week or sooner to surprise our readers!
I want some long episodes, maybe 60-80+ panels per chapter. Readers usually prefer this!
Japanese settings and japanese names for character would be very, very much preferred! I kinda have a bias towards Japan because it's given us so much over the years.
Also, a realistic setting is what I'm aiming for, like human characters with natural skin tones (not red blue stuff) and no talking animals >.< I'm sorry
Present day would be best, historic would also be okay, but please no scifi!
I want this to be a long term project, with mid to long chapters (and a LOT of them) and a dedicated fanbase
I apologize again for proposing a lot of constraints lol, please bear with me. I want something to work on that I'd be able to give my best at based on my personal preferences, so please don't feel bad! We're all different people with different personas, and it's okay to not agree on the same stuff. I'm sure you'll find a great artist who matches your ideas someday if this is not for you.
The art style would be coloured anime, watercolor-ish, loose and expressive. I'll show you some examples of what I'm aiming for when we agree to work together.
Here's my discord: nan.m
Please keep in touch whether we end up agreeing together now or not, because I'd like to keep everyone's contacts so that I can talk to you when I'm in need of someone again for the next webcomic. A lot of talented people are here, and I wouldn't want to miss out on everyone who's taking their time to pitch in now. We may not be active on this forum at the same time but discord should do!

BTW I'm not received notifications from post replies and DMs, can anyone tell me what's going on? Wtf
