Artist looking for writer (SHORT comic) -- free! [CLOSED]

Howdy ho friends, I'm Cal :')

To put it briefly, I'm an artist with fairly decent drawing skills looking for a writer with fairly decent writing skills to make a short comic with! By "short," I mean about 30 pages (or the size of your average single comic issue...or so Google tells me lol). As for genre/content, I'm not big on horror, sci-fi, or romance, but I am a fan of fantasy, drama, comedy, and slice-of-lifey stuff (nothing too graphic...PG-13 max pls).

I've never made a comic before (though I know a bit about storyboarding, composition, and visual storytelling), so I don't wanna charge for my art...I'm partially here to learn more about creating comics lol. Because of that, I'm not really looking for a professional writer (I'm hoping this can be a learning experience for us both!). I'm up to draw your complete story (though I would like to see a finished outline first), contribute a little bit to the development process, or we could make one together! I'm not the best writer but I spent a few years studying story

To be a bit more personal, I've been in an artistic rut for a while, so I'm hoping that this collab will help clear up some creative problems I've been having! And hey, why not try something new?

(Quick warning: I'm currently working and am finishing up school, so I probably won't have the fastest turnaround times. I will try my best to provide quality work, though!)

Heyo! I'm a comic writer and artist! While my current comic is a horror (see here) I'm able to write in other genres as well. (I enjoy writing fantasy and drama!) My comic shows off some of my writing skills but I'm happy to send over other stuff as well

Since I write my own scripts, I have a decent grasp of how much writing equates to comic pages.

I have a very loose style of writing scripts, however I'm happy to change it to a page by page format if that's preferred (although it will be a learning curve for me)

I'd be happy to write a story based on whatever concept/idea you'd enjoy drawing! I'm not here to see a particular story of mine being told, rather to collab and challenge myself to make a short story for someone else.

Hi there I'm novice I've helped out here and there but never on a full comic. So I have an idea of how the process would go and how to work with people, (as well as I'm learning to draw).

For an example of how I write I have a cute slice of life story I wrote, I'm in school and I'll be graduating soon and I hope to be apart of the comic making industry. I feel this would be a great start for us both. Hope to work together. ^-^

Honestly, I've always been too afraid to keep my comics up for more than a day. I always take them down out of pure fear... I have quite a few ideas circling inside my head, but I don't know how to organize them enough to get them on paper. Sorry...

Hey don't be sorry at all man, it's ok all ideas start as ideas. It's how you plan it out it what can make a great experience. If you don't mind I'd love to help you structure some of your ideas.

Takes years for some to be happy enough with something don't be afraid because you don't think someone else will not like it. On the same coin don't over look some good criticism to better yourself either. If you feel and truly know you have good content, then leave it out there other people will know too. I'll get off of this soap box now.

I struggle a lot when it comes to actually writing and plotting out my ideas, so getting your take on the process would be awesome!

I’m so sorry but I did already accept another request…BUT! If the whole thing turns out well, I might try out another collab! I think it would be pretty great to have the opportunity to work with different types of people (especially those who might not have the ability to pay for an artist…for as long as I can afford it lol)!

Your story sounds really interesting (especially the part about humans possibly becoming something else)! If I’m not eventually able to help you out, I really hope you’re able to make it a reality!
