Introduction:
Hello! My friend and I are looking for an artist to collaborate on a gag comic strip called The “Remarkable” Red Giant! While we have a look in mind, we’re so passionate in bringing this comic to life that we’re willing to take a simplistic approach (think One Punch Man).
Premise:
A human delinquent is killed by an intergalactic showrunner and given a superhero ring, granting him the abilities of the Red Giant. In order to stay alive, he must work with his sassy, Spock-like sidekick to keep the ratings up. Things get difficult when his well-behaved predecessor creates a show on a rival network in an attempt to keep his fans.
The comic takes huge inspiration from manga like One Punch Man, Lupin the IIIrd, and Saiki K. while paying homage to Fantastic Four. The comic also tackles subjects like idolization, cancel culture, and how fanbases have become cult-like.
The art style is reminiscent of Invader Zim/Tim Burton. To give you an idea, here’s concept art made by our friend, Mitchell Gibbs McGrory!
Artstyle:
The "Remarkable" Red Giant (Quincy Q. Quinn): Loveable scamp that’s more of a villain than his arch nemesis. Can manipulate the mass of inorganic objects. Can only do it one at a time. Wields a telescope staff that doubles as a pogo-stick.
Kal-Oh: Quincy’s competitor. Naive, loveable lug with head in the clouds. NOTHING like Homelander.

Black Dwarf (Alex Averin): Quincy’s “archnemesis” and school bully. Wants to prove that he’s the greatest Black Dwarf ever. Gets hate from the villain community for being a buffoon. Has access to Black Dwarf's arsenal.
Protostar (Demyan Averin): Black Dwarf’s good hearted partner/younger brother. Screws up brother's plans keep him pure. Black Dwarf can’t stay mad at him.
Crystal: Quincy’s “Spock-like” sidekick. Sister is the most popular female hero in the universe. Trying to compete with her to prove superiority. Can crystalize one organic object at a time. This forces her to communicate with Quincy. Co-writer drew the concept since she’s her favorite character.
Writing Sample:
To give you an idea of our writing, here’s a script explaining how everything kicked off. Reminder that comic gags will be waaay shorter than this.
The Deal:
Due to hard times, we’ll try to make the workload easier for you. Co-Writer is also a manga graduate. She'll lend a hand if you need help. Keep in mind that this story is a passion project. All of us are getting paid depending how well the comic does. Profits will be split evenly (there's gonna be three of us).
There will be translations down the line (we also have an advertising plan). Just know that we’re prepared.
You’ll also have the option of creative-input (ideas for gags, etc.). Any characters you make will be yours.
Everything will be published on Webtoons, Tapas, Instagram, Deviantart, Twitter and, if things line-up, our own website.
Conclusion:
Due to College and a second webcomic on the side, I won’t have time drawing the comic myself. Konai (my co-writer) is also working on her own stuff, so her hands tied. All we can do is write. Nevertheless, we’ll whatever it takes to see this comic through.
Thanks for reading. Feel free to comment or DM. I’m always open.
