Artists, do you create a new cover when you launch a new season?

Hi guys,
I kinda feel like a new season is something like a new beginning so it feels like a great time to create a brand new cover if you are launching next season. This season is going to be second and probably final for my comic. I have been brainstorming a lot wheat to launch the next season or just wrap it up with one.

Please share your thoughts with me about this topic. Thank you.

Well I don't use the word 'season', I refer to them as chapters. But yes, I make a new cover each time, because I treat them like individual books. Kinda like how each issue of a print comic has a seperate cover, despite being bundled in a single book later on. In that sense, I actually don't yet have a 'story cover'.

Rather than season, I plan on making ne covers per volume of my comic. Each chapter has their own cover, and multiple chapter make up a volume, and each volume is labeled under its own arc.

Oh yes, although I also call them chapters.

I have a series cover, which is my cover thumbnail when you're looking up my comic, as well as a different cover for each chapter.

Plus when I started chapter two, I updated the series cover!

I like to update the main cover when I start a new chapter because my art has usually improved by then, and I want that thumbnail to carry my best work.

Whenever I reach a big story/character altering moment OR when the previous cover becomes outdated.

My current one has gotten a lot of miles on it... due for an update soon.

Yes! I really like how The Silver Eye comic starts off each new chapter with a cover - kinda doubles as a poster or promo piece. So I decided to make a nice cover for each new chapter/season of my comic, Kindred Not. Here's the first one:

Starting a new season is like a new beginning, especially if it's the second and possibly final one for your comic. Think about whether you want to continue with a new season or wrap it up with a finale. Your new cover looks cool! You can use it to show what's coming or to signal the end. Follow your feelings and choose what feels right for you and your readers.

@IndigoShirtProd New season for me is practically a whole new book since the first season wrapped around 180 pages it's a single volume and season two might be around the same.

@Scarlet_Cryptid Wondeful covers. Yeah, I mean sometimes it's just a nice touch if you throw in some improved art, I also started off with BW + color and updated to fullcolor cover later on.

@gabriellabalagna Yeah well, one season for me equals a whole volume which which has exactly the volume of a classical book for me it was around 180 pages in total. I did count them roughly. Very nice cover! I enjoy how the title is entangled with the characters, a clever idea
