What's an art piece (digitial, traditional) or artist you admire or envy?
What makes you think "I LOVE this!", "How did they make that?!", or "I wish I could draw like that!"?

In comics, I love Sean Murphy! He draws so well and so fluid. And the modern painter Jean Dubuffet appeals to me on a primitive level:

The promised Neverland manga is one of my current faves, I love the artist's style (and her illustrations are <33 I want to buy her art book).

That piece reminds me of an animated short. It was all painted on glass, which is crazy to me. I guess the similarity is in that muddled dark patches with that texture of scratched in lines. Gives it a dark, sophisticated, and more focused feel.

Cool short--a lot of these animators hark back to expressionist art. It's not so popular with the kids, but I dig it as adult.

Yeah. Super talented. I don't get envious of other artists often, but man, I love his work.

From webcomics artists I admire Yuumei, especially her work "Fisheye Placebo":

The visual part is stunning.

From not-digital artists, I admire Anatoly Fomenko:

Actually, art is not his main occupation. His main occupation is math. And he's really super-good mathematician, author of fundamental classical works and textbooks - no joking... His pictures looks crazy, but actually, they all illustrate complicated geometrical and topology objects in a bizarre ways. (Fun fact: despite of his talents in math and art, guy is super bad historian. His "new chronology" isn't consistent with the scientific methodology of historical sciences. But anyway, who cares; he's a very interesting person and very interesting artist in any case.).

Gorillaz is a favorite band of mine not just for the music, but for Jamie Hewlett's artwork and character designs.

Fred Gallagher's Megatokyo was one of my biggest inspirations to get into Internet cartooning.

That's really cool and complex work. Definitely someone who knows the rules and how to break them!
