I agree about the lack of ace representation! I'm not ace myself, but a lot of my close friends are, and we've had a lot of discussions about this. My comic features a small ensemble cast focusing on a girl named Aideen and her two friends. One of her friends is an aromantic and asexual character, and since it's such a small cast, she will eventually get a lot of screen time. Her asexuality and aromanticism doesn't come explicitly for a long time because the first book is about the characters as children, but it's an explicit part of her character in the second book. She's going to be introduced for the first time in my next issue! So like... it might be too much of a slow burn of identity discussion for you, but if you like my comic and want to come along for the ride, that's awesome!
