Sometimes, we make multiple versions of a thing but can't decide which is better, so we start a thread to ask about it. And idk I just wanted to lump it all in one thread, because I like lumping things? :'D I dunno if this is a good idea or not. Feel free to keep starting your own threads instead of posting here, I'm not the boss of you :stuck_out_tongue:

If you're looking for advice, have the word advice somewhere in your post in bold so we can easily identify you and get back to you promptly

As it so happens, I'm currently looking for some advise. Which version of this panel is better? It would also help me if you talked about what impression these give you (e.g. if you're confused about what objects in the scene are supposed to be) c:

Ohh! A really useful thread to get back fast advice rather than making a new one ^^

Okay, so for impression, the static in the background and the square pattern blocking out some of the mid ground makes me think a sort of bad coding in a cyber reality as well as the word creature on the bridge and the dragon way in the back it also says fantasy. Combined with the dialogue it gives me the sense that something in is off/wrong with what we’re seeing! That being said I can’t actually see the differences between the two images and I’m usually fairly good at spot the difference when it come to pictures-

The difference in my pics is the thing attached to the bridge :] (Although saying you couldn't spot a difference is helpful too, since I know readers scrolling past would generally be even less attentive so it probably doesn't matter that much :P)

I also probably wouldn't have notices a difference in your pics if you didn't mention it was the face shading! I'm leaning towards the first one as my intuitive impression - it's probably because you've shaded the face but not the hair in the second one so it just looks like their face is darker instead of the hat casting a shadow on their upper head in general :]
