What is "queer"? For most of my life, I was convinced it was a slur, but since it's part of the acronym (LGBTQIA) I'm guessing it has a legit definition? But what?? What do the other letters not cover?!

It's an umbrella term for people who don't feel like the other terms fit them!
For example, a lot of nonbinary people use queer to describe their attraction because words like "gay" or lesbian" can be very gendered, and they don't feel included. (That said, nb lesbians are also a common label. It comes down to whatever the person feels comfortable calling themselves.)
Sometimes people use queer if they are still unsure of their identity and don't want to label themselves something more conclusive.
The vast majority of people saying queer is a slur are co-opting radfem language (cis women who hate trans women and pretend to be woke about it) whether they know it or not, bc eliminating queer as an identity--which it has been for decades-- makes it harder to be an inclusive community.

I have a question about email etiquette... (this has been bugging me for a while) -

In a formal email, is it considered necessary to include a salutation when replying, or only when initiating contact? If the conversation goes back and forth a few times, are you supposed to start every email with a salutation? >.<;

I think only the initial emails need the greeting, or if its been more than a day. If you are replying back and forth and the messages are short (so, not really a letter, more of a conversation) the greeting would be redundant. The same goes for the closing, writing sincerely every time would be over-kill in a series of short emails.

Thank them at the end for answering or for their time if you're waiting for a reply, tell them you're welcome if they've thanked you, etc etc, and possibly sign the end to help keep them from being confused about who the message is from if the email service you use doesn't already do that for you or display your name next to your email.

While it's impossible to be too polite, you won't seem unprofessional if you drop your greetings and more formal closings in short exchanges.

It also stands for 'questioning' but it's kinda treated as a umbrella term catch all for not covered identities. Example being two-soul demi-kin or people with self chosen pronouns.

I always use a flow-chart mentality: Is this the initial email or response? use greetings and salutations. Is this a reply (ie, email 3 or 4 in the chain), only use their name and comma (and only sign with your name). If you're acquainted or coworkers with the person, you could probably drop salutations, but I'll still use "Hi Person" (don't use "hey" though unless you're friends) and "Thanks, Sol". If I say thanks in the email and concluding the conversation, I use "sincerely" or drop regardless of familiarity. I think that's 90% of all emails I send.

But things get complicated when you're trying to get a point across in that ever so delicate corporate-speak. I also don't really get it, but I've been told a very well-crafted sign-off can actually send a message (one time I had my dad help me craft an email asking for something big, he was describing something not unlike jedi mind tricks with something simple as "Your assistance is greatly appreciated". It totally worked.)

My question: how the heck do you pronounce Amish? Someone told me I was stressing the a wrong but I literally can't tell the difference.

ah as in father (rhymes with la) mish ash in mish-mash (rhymes with fish)

Yeah! I was pronouncing it "ah-mish" with the stress on "mish" and someone told me I should pronounce it "ay-mish" with the stress on the "ay". Looks like I was right thanks!

well, the stress is still on the ah, its AHmish, vs ahMISH if that makes sense??
but its definitely not AyyyyMISH

Unfortunately, no, except you change the name without changing the link.

I'm pretty sure there are separate places where you entire the project title and the name that actually goes in the link, so technically the link can remain the same and the novel title could be changed. Probably approach it carefully, though?

Tapas has no relation with webtoon at all. The only relation is the two is a webcomic hosting website. And since the forums is the place where artist talks about their and others works, it's inevitable that webtoon will be often involved in the conversation, plus, they can't talk about things like that in webtoon because webtoon doesn't have a forums.

This is a free place for whoever to talk to their heart content. Maybe because of that the mods make the WEBTOON LIVE category.

Here we go again: What's "mood"? Like, the modern 'social-media' usage of the word. I at first thought it was like saying something is deep, but I've seen it used in so many different contexts that I don't know what to think anymore.
