Yeah, but it's still based on the story planning/plotting whatever you want to call it. When people say script writing, they are also encompassing everything you need to write a script including the plot and structure, dialogue, characterization etc

If you draw and write, a script is usefull to have an idea about how the panels will look and the order. It's frustrating to have to start all over again because you used the eraser too much because you hadn't figured out how you want to draw that scene.

yeah that's true, but again the thumbnail is there so that you have and idea of what the scene is about (an image says more than a thousand words) unless you're telling me you make the sketch on the same thumbnail : /, not saying you can't have a scrip just saying it seems more work for less product if you're the writer and illustrator it would be quicker and easier, in my opinion, to have a rought thumbnail of the scene and dialog than having to write a script describing how you want the page to look like, but if it works for you well you do you

Oh! I actually don't describe how I want the page to look in my scripts! Not for the most part -- I don't, like, describe what the environment looks like or anything like that. I use the script primarily for timing beats and also partially for getting a good sense of the flow of the dialogue. I can also make quick notes on expressions and basic actions I want to get across so I don't have to interpret a tiny thumbnail scribble weeks or months later without any notes.
You describe dialogue as being "part of thumbnails," but my thumbnails are way too small for that. So honestly? There's a good chance you and I are writing down a lot of the same information, just in a different format!
