Lately I've been loving those drawing chain posts where we prompt each other to draw certain things, so I thought I'd create another one. This one is all about AUs, or alternative universes, because they're fun, and who doesn't enjoy drawing their character in a different setting or different outfit sometimes.
So here's how i thought this would go: The first person posts their character(s) and says a few words about the setting and clothes they wear, the next person suggests an AU to draw them in and posts their own OC(s). The AU can be a different setting (e.g. high fantasy elves in a modern setting, modern characters in a Victorian setting), a different job (e.g. soldiers as nurses), a different genre if it's visually different (e.g. rom-com characters in a gritty detective story) or different species (e.g. everyone as mermaids, vampires or aliens). Just get creative with it. 
So, I'm just going to start and post my, ahem, pirates.
They live in a pretty anachronistic parallel universe/fantasy world where they do have access to modern clothes and technology so they're usually seen in stereotypical pirate clothes, but sometimes they'll hang out in hoodies and sweatpants, and when they go on land in more modern places, they wear mostly alternative/punkrock-ish clothes, but besides they just look like pirates most of the time and anything other than those three clothing styles wouldn't be canon.
