My life these past few months has been wake up, write, go to work, write, then sleep. I'm in desperate need of an illustrator, but I have no extra money to spend 90% of the time.

I'm looking for a part-time (potentially full-time) partner whom I can routinely exchange written pieces (such as character descriptions, scripts, short stories, lore etc.) for illustrations of my ever-expanding literary universe (such as characters, covers, scenes, thumbnails etc.).

Please do not say you are interested without first looking at my work. I want you to be satisfied that I'm the right person for you, just like I want to be satisfied that you're the right person for me.

You can read the prologue + 2 chapters of Cosmonogic to get an idea of what I can do: https://tapas.io/series/Cosmonogic18
Note: The revised versions of these chapters are coming out in two months, and I can give you a sneak peek beforehand if you're thinking something along the lines of "I like the story-line but it could be worded better." My final-draft work rivals professionally written material (you be the judge of that).

Feel free to ask questions. I will be regularly checking this thread.

"whom I can routinely exchange written pieces... for illustrations" what they want me to write is up to them and their needs. I'm fully prepared to devote as much time writing as my partner would drawing.

The optimal partner for me is someone who is in need of a great deal of written content - whether that be a full-blown novel or a number of smaller pieces such as lore or summaries.

I am a writer and artist. I know both processes well. So I can say that writing is faster than drawing. I am not a very fast writer, but if I have plan, I can write a chapter (1500-2000 words) in 1-2 working days. One illustration of this chapter will require more days or even weeks. Especially a lot of time is taken away by battles, battle scenes, complex background with buildings or interior.
Character design is a very complex process. You can not immediately draw the finished character. Preparatory work takes time. These are sketches, references, design options, color options, etc. If the artist can sit down and in a couple of hours draw a sketch from the scratch with a interesting character design, then this is a very experienced concept artist who gets a lot of money for their work.

If in exchange you propose only to write a few text for the artist, this will be an unfair deal. You want more than just a cover or some illustrations.
What is the expected final product? How will you monetize your project? If you have income, what will the artist get? Who will have the rights to all these illustrations? There are a lot of questions.

And one more aspect. This is your project, your world and characters. This is not co-creation, when two people work on the same project and can offer ideas on equal rights.
I think it is difficult to find an artist who does not have his own ideas for implementation. This is motivation. To work for free on a large long project, there must be a strong motivation.

I wish you find a suitable partner. But it seems to me that only a very inexperienced artist can agree on current conditions. Just because they does not represent the amount of work.
You are more likely to find a partner if you offer to make a comic for your project and share the possible income.

P. S. Sorry for mistakes. My English is poor. And it's hard for me to write such complex texts.

There are a lot of questions that I will sit down with interested said artist to discuss. I apologize if my post gave the impression that I was not willing to offer an even amount of work. I myself write on average six hours nonstop each day. If you have any more questions feel free to ask them here. However, if you yourself are interested I would very much prefer us privately discussing this.

One thing I will say though, is that neither of us will exchange any amount of money. It will purely be work in exchange for work.

I would be interested in working with you. I can send you some art if you want

This sounds absolutely awesome, I wish more writers would come forward with offers like this.
Best of luck with this! Will be looking at your examples soon and maybe I'll pop into your PMs myself ~
