So someone gave me 100 ink, and I'm like...

'...what does that mean'

I have been gone for a while for personal reasons (a LONG while) and I wasn't here for the soft transition into Ink.
I wasn't even really using coins back when I was using this site.

So I don't know what this ink is.
I have 30, according to the number next to the ink blob below my name...but my notifications said someone 'supported you with 100 ink!'

I don't know waht that means. Pls help an old man lol

It's the new "coins" so it basically works the same way. You can tip people with ink or use it unlock Premium comics and novels.

As penni says, not really a difference. Also, Holy shit, welcome back dude it's been a long while. Hop onto a promotional thread cause you're gonna need it.

Just like the above have said ink is just a reskin of the previous coin currency. So the number besides the ink drop is how many supporters/tippers you have and the ink amount is just how much that individual has given you.

There's a comic from staff that breaks it down a bit (albeit more on how to get ink) and hopefully can serve as bit of explanation:

O-okay...but where do the coins go?

As I said I only saw 30 coins but someone gave me 100...also I don't know where to use them, I dont follow many series here on tapas, just a few, and I dont think I'll be spending it.
The comic said I can convert it to money? How?

Thanks all of you! And also thank you it's good to be back!

so if it's not clear the 30 is the number of unique individuals supporting you with ink

the 100 ink is the amount one of those supporters gave you which for you as the creator is turned into actual money. you can check the specific amounts if you go to your dashboard and check the support and revenue tabs
