Bad Start Fixing

When I first started my comic, I was very new and inexperienced, but I just started creating anyway which lead me to have a bad start. Thanks to the forums, I have gotten so much advice and I have changed some panels, dialogue, story, art etc. But they were usually just pretty minor (although some panels completely changed). Now, I am thinking to completely edit the first chapter to make it better. I would like some advice on how I can edit my comic to be much more... "better".

I'm facing the same peoblem at the moment xD my problem is, I don't have enough time to make whole redraws. Then I got the tip to make chapter summaries and just point out the most important stuff. And I think it works best for me. I do want to make redraws, but I want to wait until my drawing skill gets more solid. Otherwise I would be stuck redrawing for months xD
But if you do have time and fun redrawing, totally go for it.

my advice , be careful with this one, rebuffing old comics can have you going around in circles and eventually getting sick of seeing the same pages, that can lead to becoming bored with the project. if you do it i would either do it slowly as your working on new stuff or all at once one time only and never going back.

whats wrong with the first chapter that you wanna change?

id say, if its comprehensible, leave it. if you go back and edit it now, itll be really hard to stop

It doesn't seem super beneficial really.. I mean, you can redraw it, but it'll take away time from drawing more new material. On top of that, wouldn't there be a quality drop from the first to the second chapter once you do finish? I can see this pushing others to redraw more chapters until the quality's evened out, which again, that's time that could be used to make more new chapters.

I'm of the mindset that likes seeing the improvement of an artist in comics or mangas so.. I dunno, it seems like a wasted effort to me. If the story's good enough, I say leave the art alone. That's up to you though, if you wanna go redraw, then go for it, dude!

Nah man leave it alone. Same thing happened to me. Started when i was in high school and now im way better at drawing and writing. And now i gotta make my crazy ass ideas i had as a kid make sense and into a comprehensible story. But that challenge will only make you a better artist. Besides those old drawings can serve as a example to how much youve improved.
