Because Instagram Hashtags are Still Down

...I'm gonna drop my commission prices here! I know someone a few days ago was asking about people's commissions, so why not just put mine here in case other people have also been in the market to commission. The hashtags being messed up has seriously been driving me nuts and its killing a lot of my engagement! I figured since elections here in the US were basically done they'd have turned it back but it's exactly the same. Even twitter hasn't gotten rid of the QRT only function and I'm wondering if this is major social media just quietly giving it's last message to artists on how they feel even though we're giving them content

I've also just updated my commission info and pricing for the holidays so I'm seriously hoping i can see a raise in traffic soon

What I can't help but find to be the most ironic is there's an easy workaround for the forced qrts on twitter but there's literally no solution to instagram's mess except the off chance someone shares your stuff in on of their stories and that's about it. Like even in terms of algorithm changes on ig likes and comments have been rendered worthless save for being a kind gesture and the only metrics to have any effect are saves and shares. it's an absolutely awful time

It's brutal, especially with the amount of ads and storefronts taking over instagram. Not to mention that it's difficult to even find the posts of people you follow. I already have a small following, so I feel like I'm just yelling into a void. But there aren't many options since Tumblr and DA are a bust if you don't already have a decent following.

twitter and ig are literally the only places i even have a following and i've only ever gotten sales out of twit so i worry for how much worse things could get. i try my best to honor tapas rules here on the forums about promo but unless there's an easy way for artists and writers to find one another for work i don't really know what other places to turn to.

by this point i'm already dragging myself back into applying for a regular 9 to 5 because my art is really just isn't feeling as sustainable as it had been in the past

Not even my current job is sustainable. Selling my art would be a great way to make a little extra cash on the side to have more of a safety net, but I feel like I'm cursed to never get paid for my art. It's extremely difficult to get discovered online, and even harder to get discovered in person. And with no conventions anytime soon, I don't know what to do.
