I had a lot of ideas for comics that sadly never got made, or got beyond the art stage that are now lost to time cause the art got thrown away or I'd forgotten most things about them.
The ones I can still recall a few from years ago though...
Kabookie - This was a comic I made back in high school (during study hall on notebook paper no less)about a strange Japanese man and assorted cast of characters that generally were in parodies of things I liked at the time such as Star Trek: The Next Generation, Deep Space Nina, and Voyager, or Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.
Heaven is a Place On Earth - This was a comic idea I came up during the early 2000s that is very heavily influenced by Japanese anime at the time. It's kind of a mix of Yu Yu Hakusho, Ah My Goddess, and Tenchi Muyo in that the main guy character somehow ends up with Death (who is a cute girl) living with him, and her sisters War, Famine, and Pestilence (aka the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse). Lots of other things were start to happen such as angels, demons, and various mythological monsters/classic horror monsters showing up to cause trouble.
It got super far into the art stage with character designs, descriptions, etc... and I even wrote a number of mini-novel like stories for things that I considered getting published, but alas it was not meant to be as it was a project too big for me to really tackle at the time. Though some of the art is still around.
Wishful Thinking - Created around the mid-2000s...this was another very anime inspired work that didn't get past the character design and rough notes for plot stage. Basically a high school student's archaeologist mother (which was as a joke hinted to be kind of like Lara Croft in her younger years), sends him her latest finds, including an old lamp that had a girl genie inside, and the typical anime hilarity was to ensue.
American Omiai - Made around the mid-2000s or so... An American high school student suddenly finds out years prior that his large business owner mother in an effort to open proper agreements with a large company in Japan, arranged for him to be married to the Japanese business owner's daughter when they come of age (Omiai = arranged Japanese marriage). Drama and comedy follow.
This comic actually still exists online over at The Duck (formerly Drunk Duck). It got a good ways into the first chapter with the help of another artist inking and shading my pages, but he wanted to stop before the chapter ended and thus, the comic was abandoned as I felt inadequate to continue it.
The Slack-Offs - Created around the late 2000s. The story of a video game loving girl and her toy collecting nerd boyfriend as they struggle to live together in a recently acquired home while their friends invite themselves in to stay.
This comic...it got to about two pages or so on deviantART before it got stopped for some reason. However, this comic would be the basis for what I made my current still going comic, POW! Right in the Nostalgia off of as a number of the characters and character designs are lifted straight from it.
After that last one, I spent quite a few years away from art or coming up with comic ideas until 2014 or so, when my comic POW! Right in the Nostalgia came out.
