Ok. While we are here, let us complain about just how capitalism has trumped art and quality. Nowadays, with how undereductated we have become, with the privatization of our educational system (let us be honest, when the goal is to make a profit, you will always cut on quality), it has become somewhat impossible for art that demands a higher level of intellectual processing to thrive. People don't want to use their brains anymore, it is too demanding and we are lazy poopoo-holes.
So what thrives nowadays? Third-rate isekai webcomics with no plot, no quality art (all of those artists are amazing, don't get me wrong - but they just go for the lowest hanging fruit, and who wouldn't?!), no nothing. Make simpler, make a dumber story and look at you becoming the next "Fifty Shades of Grey" of comics! But as I just told a university colleague yesterday: "Don't call me an author. I write for myself. Commercial literature is a form of prostitution."
Does that make you feel better, knowing that it is not your art or your plot that is at fault? Nah, it makes you feel worse because it means you are surrounded by idiots that can't even process the easiest of concepts. Well, geez, we live in a world where "Games of Throne" is considered the embodiment of the machiavelic ideal (I am sure it is plenty enjoyable, but certainly not the highest we can reach as humanity).
So now that you have given me the possibility to vent, I am off to subscribe to your comic.
