Do it, if someone criticize you, hear what he has to tell, question yourself, and then go back to your comic and CONTINUE IT. You shouldn't be afraid of what people will tell you.

Best advice? Just do it I suppose. I'm gearing up to start a comic I've had in the works since forever. My art may not be that good at some points, but hey as long as I have at least one fan who adores what I do, that's really the best thing I think any amateur web cartoonist could ask for starting out.

I think the best piece of advice I've gotten and continue to get to this day is advice from my animation instructor:

Art teacher: "What the fuck is that? It's fucking awful. Do better."
Me: "Fuck off, I'm trying D:<"

Yeah, doesn't sound very constructive, but just "Do better" is enough incentive for me to, well, do better. Having someone taunt you and then tell you to do better works wonders if you have the mindset for it. But you really do have to have the mindset for it; others would probably just be offended or feel put down by it, haha.

When it came for writing the comic I had trouble writing certain scenes and I was told to not force it and let the ideas come naturally.

I was told "Just do it!" When discussing how I couldn't simplfy my style and asked how the arist I was speaking to does it.

Since then, I've been able to draw in any style, once I accepted that what he said was possible.
