Biggest pet peeves of being an artist

This one is from my friends and colleagues when they see I can draw: "oh why don't you do this as a job?"
Maybe because it's an oversaturated market and I'd rather eat and sleep than being payed under minimum wage to deal with people that are just as annoying if not more as the customers at my sidejob.

Lady bug heart was just what I made as my online persona when I was younger. I liked ladybugs and hearts and yes, 1998 is my birth year. I have since switched most of my art related accounts to Callirai, including my Instagram. I just haven't gotten around to changing it on here. Lol.

So true! It is so hard to make this a caterer and as much as we would all love to, we can't commit to it fully until we are making money from it, which rarely happens if you are not doing it full time. I get that!

Callirai was a name that my husband helped me make a whole back ago. I was learning calligraphy at the time so it was kind of based off that. I thought it sounded cool and unique so I kept using it!

Oh my wow! I agree. I was drawing a ton of studies this weekend and my back is killing me this morning! Not to mention my neck. And gosh darn my bottom got sore after sitting for so long too! I need a better office chair honestly...

Take breaks every 20~25 minutes, hit the gym, enroll in swimming classes, etc your back will thank you in the future

I do take breaks every 30 minutes and stand up and stretch xD And I take walks every day and do morning workouts, still in pain lol

Uh...not having enough personal time to draw. Between my full time job and marriage there's just not as much time to draw as I'd like. I still get stuff done, but...life and responsibilities.

I get that. I work full time as a nanny and I am also married. We don't have any kids yet, but we do have two dogs and two cats that take up a lot of our attention. Some times I don't feel like I have an adequate amount of time for my art.

I have been married for ten years now. My wife is super supportive of my art so I really shouldn't complain XD

My husband is so supportive too! We have known each other since we were 8, been together since 2015 and been married since March of 2019!

Biggest Pet Peeve is the classism within the art communities--like animation vs illustration vs graphic design vs fine art--it is exhausting. Everyone wants to be king of the mountain, looks down on other communities of art, and it's just...

oh yeah, happens everywhere. But especially with big twitter accounts with tons of followers it's like...yo...everyone is watching you. You are the example for the art community. You represent us. Stop starting art wars every other day!
