I totally get your sentiment, I use tumblr quite a bit too. My fandom account that I've had for over 10 years is fairly "successful", though I prefer to see that as a hobby and not look too much at the engagement. I start with a synopsis, trying to summarize the whole story in about one page of text. It helps with knowing the most important things that happen, and to make sure I know how it ends before I waste any time writing or drawing anything. After that I write smaller summaries of all the story beats…
I LOVE black and white art! It can look so clean and nice, and I also find coloring a chore lololol [image][image][image][image][image][image]
My day job is really holding me back from having the time and energy to work on my longer projects... Not just in the time it's taking up but I also always feel so rusty when I finally sit down to draw lol. Then it's hard to get into a good flow state and I just end up doodling.

No I MUCH prefer black and white comics lolol. Especially over over-rendered colors or poor color choices. Comics is all about readability and sometimes scaling back on colors makes it easier to read.
I'm not the target audience, but I will say that this is a really nice and well composed panel. If I were the target audience I'd definitely be interested. I do love the black and white though! Love black and white comics!! <3
