Huh, I didn't know that; the only experience I may have had with a block feature was on Discord (or at least I assumed the other person blocked me, since I could no longer PM them despite us still sharing the same servers and them still being active). In that case I could still see their comments in servers (including new ones), as well as our PM history.
So it didn't really make much sense to me for block features to forbid the blockee from viewing the blocker's (public) content, but your comment helped me understand the reasoning behind that, so thanks :]
It's perfectly normal for people to provide some brief context for why they're asking a question (or interpreting something a certain way; for instance, earlier in this very comment I mentioned someone (probably) blocked me on Discord, but I sure as heck aren't asking you or anyone to say "oh you poor thing, that was such an overreaction").
If anything I assumed OP omitting the details meant that they didn't want anyone to evaluate who was in the wrong here. You're the one who's assuming they wanted us to "sympathise with them making a light hearted joke only to get blocked".
(Besides, if they didn't lay out their personal experience on the table, there was every possibility someone would've still been like "hm, why do you ask? you salty about being blocked for being an asshole? lmao" -.-)
Some people did address this, but I guess it's easy to forget about them after reading the incoming flood of AITA takes :'D
Also, just for the record @leiseflustern, I don't care what you said - the fact that you were willing to delete and apologize as well as respecting people's choice to block you for any reason makes you cool in my book. I've said some dumb shit in the past which was well-intentioned at the time, but in hindsight it was super cringe and I totally would not want to bring it up for people to scrutinize when I already realise it's cringe.
I can see a bit of salt in your comment about how the author decided to block you without talking to you first, but I don't believe you're actually judging the author for making this decision in that you believe they have no right to do so. Your feelings are not your beliefs! And I think what you're really complaining about here is Tapas' system for blocking, and not the author (who might not even know blocking you would also block you from viewing their series).
I really hope you read this; your OP and the reactions in this thread reminded me of some stuff I went through when I was newer to the internet, so I wanted to make sure you felt at least somewhat understood ^^;
