Blood donation campaign? (Sub4Sub)

So, as I was editing my story , I reached the scene related to blood donation, then a clarity struck me that blood donation does exist in real life, and I've done it before, although its over a couple years ago since the last time I did it. My first experience was not that good TBH = v = ;
After donating about 450ml of blood, I found myself staring off in space and literally melt on my chair, as I was holding an opened box of milk. (Yeah I was sipping milk and eating crackers. Me love some free snacks after a donation owo)b)
My situation kinda got worse for a brief moment after that, with pain around the puncture area, and wow, how many hours did I sleep? o -o I can't remember what happened after that XD
Still, I'm glad that I was able to donate blood. It gave me a sense of victory(?) to know that my blood will help someone in need.
Does it hurt? A little bit.
Will I feel anemic after it? Definitely.
Will I do it again? Yes

For all blood donors here, what's your first experience is like? Or your most memorable event ever happened during one of your donations?

So.. I haven't donated yet but it's about to become my norm. I have the lightweight version of hemochromatosis apparently and the only course of treatment is modern leeches. The hematologist I'm seeing soon will tell me how often a year I need to donate. Not looking forward to it..

I've donated plasma, which takes a bit longer. Apparently my plasma was "very nice and clean!"

Never donated blood... just seen it happen during my compulsory military service. They offered a guaranteed pass (it was part of your college subjects) to anyone who donated blood. Because why not? You bleed for your country, you don't deserve to fail.

I wasn't in danger of failing so I didn't donate...

So I remembered seeing a bunch of guys in BDU laying on makeshift beds after they donated blood. And in my mind I was like... is this a preview of battlefield casualties?

I donated blood at the church, the library, and school. It doesn't hurt as long as I don't watch the needle going in. My hand just gets tired when grip pumping the stress ball to keep the blood flowing. I do it once a year to be on the safe side, since I get pretty bad nosebleeds in my life.

Yes, it does look like the infirmary tent after a war or something, minus the dripping blood, and fresh, gaping open wound that was being dressed by doctors. = v =
They take your blood, gave you some snacks, and while you're resting, for some reason, you'll find yourself laughing with your homies who donated blood together with you

Never shared blood - after the affair with used needles that was on some time ago, I lost all will to be stung
But I was either way surviving daily injections some time ago - and... the needles were new
