wont lie, i get nervous and start patting my pockets just thinking about bodies of water these days bc im so precious abt my tech.
also drowning; i think humans have a reasonable penchant for having our feet firmly on something, anything, and you dont get that in the sea. maybe whats really terrifying is that its not ours. like an american in anywhere other than america, were terrified of the ocean because it doesnt adhere to us. were a race of control freaks.
theres also a loneliness. like, especially if you look out to sea at night. its just a void. its very easy to just disappear into the ocean, even in todays age of communication (see point one.) and thats really, really scary.
