Calling Creators with multiple comics! Do you have a favourite?

Okay, so I write two comics.
Roofotp Bookshop: and (Semi) Super
Rooftop Bookshop is further along than (Semi) Super, but as you can see:

the art style between the two, genre and pretty much everything else is reeeeaal different, and I like working on them both, but very differently. If I had to chose between which one I worked on more I'd personally have to say (Semi) Super though tbh, it's more my style at the moment, while Rooftop Bookshop is more the lighthearted stuff I liked to read after a rough day when I was younger.) So I was wondering, with people that had more than one comic, do you have a favourite out of yours? Maybe it's rude to ask, like asking a parent which kid they like better, but honestly.... I'm curious haha

Yes. I have a favorite, it's my main comic Goblins of Razard. I put the most work into it and it's been running the longest. Not to say I haven't enjoyed the short stories I've done or the paid things I do, it just is special to me.

I have two comics!! Crow Summer (which is my main project) and Pirate Comic (which I drew for practice and am now just seeing to the end because I love it).

It's really obvious which comic I put more effort into, and so you'd think I'm obviously more in love with the better-made one? But I really…. actually don't think I can answer. I love them both SO MUCH, but in totally different ways.

I'm really proud of Crow Summer and I love being able to read through it and say "this is a really well-made comic and I am proud out it". It has characters and a story and art that I really want to show people and share. I love it as something that is made to be loved, if that makes any sense. I love sharing it.

Pirate Comic was NOT made to be read by anyone except myself (the only reason I have it on Tapastic at all is because my siblings wanted to read it but didn't want me emailing it to them) and so I love it in a totally different way. I'm not proud of it as an achievement in art or writing. I love making it.

(That said, overall probably Crow Summer is probably my favorite, if I was tallying points.)

I have 10 comics on Tapastic... :'D
Well I do like them all, and I wish I could spend equal amount of time on each of them (especially when people ask when they gonna update), but due to time and willpower, I had to put some on hiatus.
My fav of favs is definitely Skies Aren't Blue and funny enough, because of that I procrastinate on it epicly - but that's because I want to give it my best, and I don't feel like I can do my best right now. I have a team of people helping me with the stuff, and we have a lot of fun times creating new plots and character interactions. This comic has a very special place in my heart.
Urban Legend is my second fav. It's kinda like my rebel child that does what it wants. And it likes to be dark, naughty and scandalous >w> It gives me a lot of creative freedom, and it contains everything I like: horror, good looking men, BL, drama, angst, dark humour, etc. I don't put much effort in it, visually speaking, but it still looks good and gives me joy XD And I'm happy there's more people that like it than I expected.

But all my attention right now is focused on I'm Mortal because it made it kinda big out there, like it hits the Tapastic front page after an update. It's much easier to work on it, because it's kinda a light hearted slice of life, while SAB is a heavy sci-fi and UL a horror mystery. So you can already tell that I decided to go the easy way since SAB and UL have complicated plots :'D
And limited time pays a great role here too...

For sure! I've got like 5 series on Tap, so far my favorite is Erie Waters, mostly because it's done and I can go back and look at it as a complete story xD It was also the first real thing I ever did with strict black and negative space and I think it turned out great.

Of my on-going series, my favorite is Heavy Horns, because the story is pretty much complete and I think it's one of the tightest works I've written. I also love drawing the characters every week.

As for Demon House, while I love the characters and concepts in that, I know it's going to go on for a while, so I have a "I'll be stuck with this roommate for a while, but at least they're tolerable" kind of mentality towards it, haha.

Then my newest series Sarota Springs, I have yet to get into the rhythm of drawing that so I'm not sure how it will go just yet. It's a shorter story so I like that part, but it's also light horror and I'm nervous because I've never drawn a comic like that and the genre is definitely not my wheelhouse.

Currently my favorite is https://tapastic.com/series/The-Vast . I am really enjoying the creation of it and loving the art my cousin is producing for it. It is very nice to see my ideas look so pretty with someone elses artistic skill.

I got two. My first project 'WYIHN!', and my current one 'VTGtaHR'.

'WYIHN!' was/is more of a prototype comic, which is now over 100 pages in. I created it to get my foot in the door, and start learning the basics of how to comic. Since it was mainly just to get myself started, the story is rather weak, there's a lot of little holes and it sort of drags on with not a whole lot happening. The type of comic I made it also put some restrictions on what I could do with it, so it hasn't been particularly fun to work on, and the main character is also an unlikable brat.

'VTGtaHR', while also being a practice comic (to improve my backgrounds, and story "skillz"), it is definitely my favorite. I had fun with some of the characters from my other project, so I decided to work on a story revolving around them, with a mature theme so I had more the work with. The comic is all around enjoyable, and I have to admit was a refreshing change from the other project, which I have been trudging through for a good 6 or so years. It is far from being great but I put a lot more effort into the construction of the story for this one, and while I did my best with both, it does take longer to finish pages for 'VTGtaHR' since they're in colour.

In short, 'VTGtaHR' is my favourite.

I have BioHazard which is my main slice of cake but it's definitely not my favorite. Why? Because I have to stick to a story that has been written already.

Then I have Your Heart is My Coffin which I LOVE to work on (when I do work on it) because it's looser. Black and white, 2 main characters, jumping from one time period to the next, one shot stories with an overarching story line, it just gives me so much freedom to draw and write whatever I want!

Out of my two, Paisley Brickstone and A Perilous Journey, uhhh.... not really?? I feel like if I tried to pick a favorite I wouldn't enjoy working on the other as much, so I try not to. One is more experimental while the other is more focused. The only reason I think about Paisley Brickstone a lot more than Perilous Journey is I'm currently doing more pages and work on it, but I'm sure once I sit back down to finish writing the second chapter of Perilous Journey my brain will flip the other way again. (I also have a third project that's unreleased I've been working on that I'm unsure of when it'll be released but it's, imo, the best concept out of my ideas?? But Paisley gets number 1 priority because it was the idea started on first so it gets more time until it's finished. The order is basically, Paisley, Perilous Journey, and then mystery third thing only gets worked on if I have time and motivation that week after finishing my work on the other two. Not order of how much I love 'em, though, just order of priority based on when each was started cuz I just dont wanna be that guy who starts things but never finishes them.)

I have two webcomics, World at Strife and Scumbag Heroes

And of those two webcomics I love Scumbag Heroes way more than World at Strife. From the time World At Strife had its debut to now, I have always written each page off the cuff like it was nothing, which is a very, very, bad idea. Scumbag Heroes on the other hand I wrote from start to finish with actual thought put into the characters in the long term. If it weren't for the fact that World at Strife was more popular and garnered more attention for its colorful art style I would have stopped drawing it a long time ago.

I have 3 comics, but I have never time to update either because uni is VERY time consuming for me.

I like working on icebreaker the most, the story interests me and I like drawing the characters. The artstyle is easy, and doesn't take too much effort. Only getting the pacing right is hard because I haven't fully thumbnailed everything. And I'm still not sure which of the two endings that I wrote, I'm gonna use haha. Makes it still feel fresh tho.

Cotton is kind of dead... Making just one part takes like two full weeks, because I though it was fun to take a coloring style that is very time consuming??? OH ME! But I have it fully thumbnailed, so I can always decide to just lower the art quality...

The Ordinary Art Student has the easiest art style, also it being short comics makes it easier to work on. The only problem I have with it is coming up with gags for it... So I rarely update because I'm never satisfied with the joke. It's always either overdone or just not relateable or funny.

I know what you mean by liking them differently, that's how I feel about mine too. It's like when someone asks if I like chocolate or strawberries more, I like them both equally, but differently lol

WOW, first of all, kudos to you for starting 10 comics and posting them, I technically have 2 and I find it a bit overwhelming at times, but yours all have good quality to them too! I'm gonna try and look through them all, but I wish you the best of luck with all of them you brave, brave soul.

@joannekwan Wow, I'm amazed how many people have more than 2 series, I think that's awesome especially when your genres are so different. I'm wishing you the best of luck with Sarota Springs, I know how hard it can be to write something outside of your comfort zone, but it can be exciting too!

@Bloomer the way you feel about WYIHN! is how I feel about one of mine too, I keep up with it, but I'd really rather work on my other one haha... Also my other comic isn't it colour either, it's amazing the time difference between colour and black and white.

I don't blame you, sticking to a predetermined storyline is fun when your coming uo with the story and then it's just kind of like working to get to the end of it. It's nice to write a story that gives so much creative freedom, I prefer writing that way too, I feel like my stories are just better when I do.

Kemonomimi Playground is my favourite one, because that is the one I started purely because I wanted to draw a yaoi.

My other ones were either school works I'm either A) Not proud of the rushed work bc deadlines B) simply isn't really popular bc of the subject OR a simple author diary that is just to post daily life comics which also aren't of particularly high quality.

KP is my highest quality one in terms of FULL COLOUR and that it's my personal interest that I'm drawing it. It also causes me the most pain since half of it was unplanned and the FC takes so much more time and work.

@dojo Yeah I understand, priority does sometimes play a big role in how I feel on a project. By the way, I adore your art style!

@WhatAHero Oh my gosh I understand what you mean about writing off the cuff. It gets so hard to keep track of what's happened and what hasn't happened yet and to keep the story concise without making it seem too stretched out or too shallow. I don't like making super concrete storylines, but I feel soooo much better whan I at least have a loose storyline to stick to, it makes writing so much less stressful and more enjoyable. Since it seems you're in it for the long run with World of Strife, I wish you the best of luck since I totally respect sticking with something to the end, and I'm going to definately check out Scumbag heros when I can!

Mine all happen in the same universe, Heroes of the World and Beyond is my main one, and I'm doing Superheroes because i find them easiest to write for (I get severe creative block otherwise). HOTWAB Universe is for comics I'm doing in conjunction with other websites and any random ideas I want to get down without disturbing the main story. And I've recently started Night Twink which opens up to my lgbt character. I'd have to say I prefer the main strip as the stories and writing just flow. If you run out of ideas for superhero stories, you're not doing it right

I thought I was quite a busy bunny, but I can see here we're all doing some phenomenal output. Good work everyone!
