Can a comic survive before a hiatus of TWO YEARS?

I had to take a hiatus of TWO YEARS! I'm here now with my sci-fi comic HOME but this time I'm in another website, Webtoons.

Do you think it's possible to recover lost time? Has it happened to you?

i believe it's possible after witnessing a comic come back after being on hiatus for about three years

i'll have to agree with @Shanny8's point about demand and mainstay but if the readers you have are still looking forward to it i'm sure they'll come back for more

My comic is 10 years old and there's only 3 bad drawn chapters to it
I can't draw shit no matter what...

It seems very difficult to recover the old audience. From thousands of enthusiasts readers I have recover just hundreds in this new attempt.

Hundreds is better than none. Loss is inevitable.

You can still attract new readers. If you keep consistent updates, you'll probably get back to the number you once had. Some old audiences probably thought the comic is dead and may not be aware that it's back. Once there's some chatter about your comic you'll probably get more of your old readers back when they find out that it's not dead.

I took a 2 year hiatus and I was able to recover, so I can say from experience: yes!! It took my website about a year to get to the numbers it had before the break. (and at that point I'd still run into some people saying "OH!! You're updating again? I hadn't checked since the hiatus!" every now and again, haha )

I fell off the face of the Earth for about a year because of life. I didn't even tell people about my situation; i just stopped posting. When I came back, there were a few readers that welcomed me back wholeheartedly, and probably a few that were upset with me but didn't say anything.

Regarless, because I've been working towards weekly updates, I'm starting to get the views I used to. I'd say about half my subscribers are active. I'm sure there's some trust I need to earn again that I won't disappear without a word again, but I think I'm recovering ️

Honestly, you really can't without notice and even then, it's a huge risk. The least you could do is post something up even if it's art to tide the readers over.
