Im doing a project for my history class about civil rights, and I'd really appreciate the help!
If there was only someway to use your electronic devices to access the accumulated knowledge of the world...like some kinda Locate Motor...or better yet, a Search Engine
Seriously, why haven't you Googled or Bing'd it?
Things to google:Marsha P. JohnsonSylvia RiveraTrans women and the Stonewall RiotsSex workers and the Stonewall Riots
Ive googled it, i just wanted to see if anyone else had any information or fun facts that I may have not seen
Thank you! Didnt think of those!
I second these suggestions specifically for information. Trans women and Sex workers were instrumental in the events of Stonewall.
So they will give me good, specific information?
They should! but even just learning more about Marsha and Sylvia as noted above should put you in the right direction.
Okay! Thank you so much for your help!
There are also some documentaries out there with footage from the riots that are pretty interesting (I think Netflix currently has one about Marsha with interviews from Sylvia which gives a lot of insight into how unwelcome trans women were in the very movement that they pioneered).
Oh! Okay cool!!! I didnt know that
I'd probably read actual publications from that time period (60s/70s) by queer activists or actual accounts of people there than tumblr or twitter lol
Cool lol. Thanks!!! Thats so much help
