Can art stops audience?

Heyyy I've started a new comic not too long ago on webtoon, I do this comic during the short breaks I have. So I know that the quality isn't the best. I'm super happy with all the peoples that comments and all (they are lovelyy) but I was wondering if the art stopped more people to subscribe... Or maybe it is just the story?
Maybe it's better if I upload less often but improve in the art...

I don’t want to sound rude but you have only posted a few pages and already have 90 subscribers. That’s really good! There are plenty who get a lot less. Just keep posting and don’t worry about it

Hmm I think your art is nice and very cute! And aw I'm glad you're happy with the comments and people there though! It's always nice to get good attention feom something you've made yourself.

But lots of people have many reasons not to subscribe, whether it be from the plot, art, or maybe they don't want to sub because they have too much to read? There's honestly a ton of reasons that can factor in, it's best not to get too caught up on it and just keep uploading consistently! Though if you want to try improve the art but take a longer time, that wouldn't hurt to try too. I think the people in Webtoon are fine with waiting longer times for updates anyway.

But if you just keep going and posting as you are, I think you'll get a good fanbase! So don't worry too much about those people who aren't subscribing.

Totally random question, but is your comic called Blurred Petal or Blurred Beauty? Cuz the title says "petal", but the title in the comic is "beauty"

If you have this many subscribers already with just a few pages, you're doing a lot better than a lot of us. I have 30 subscribers and almost 4 complete chapters uploaded. I wouldn't worry to much about how many subscribers you get.
Personally, I rather have less and have all of them be really fans of the series, than having thousands that subscribed just for the heck of it.
If you create your comic for yourself and not for others, it will show in your work. Usually, you end up with a much stronger story and your art will bloom naturally if you work at it. As long as you do it for yourself. If you gain fans along the way, that's just a bonus.
I find that online, a judgment is done very quickly. Everything needs to be "right now" and with series, it gets hard because you only upload a page at a time. It might not be quick enough for some people. There's different reasons why someone doesn't subscribe.
I may not have a lot of subscribers online, but the print version of my comic does well and the comments have been mostly positive for story/art. That warms my heart. I print for those readers who don't like reading online or they'd rather be able to read an entire chapter in one sitting.
All I'm saying is, don't focus so much on numbers.

i been posting on Webtoons for over a year. i have 34 updates, i only have a little under 70 subs o-o, you are not doing bad

Good looking matters. I'm personally very picky and don't even invest time in comics if they don't look appealing to me. I know probably I'll miss many comics with good stories but I can't force myself.
But in romance and slice of life genres you don't have to worry about sub count. But if the benefit of these genres isn't enough for you, you can still improve your art and your subcount with it. Unfortunately posting often enough is still a more significant element of getting more subs than improving art.
