Cat/Fox/Wolf Girls, the CIA, and super soldiers - Would people on this site be interested in reading something new?

Hello,

I'm new here and wanted to write something that was a mix of the stories I've read and watched from Logan to . The title of my web comic is The Things We Protect and it basically follows Donovan Paulsen, a former paratrooper who gets caught up in a human trafficking operation and causes him to uncover a conspiracy involving Cat/Fox/Wolf girls, the CIA, super soldiers, and his time in the military. As he does this, he finds himself reconnecting with old friends from the military and moves past the guilt of his past adventures and lost comrades.

Do you guys think this makes for an interesting story that people will read here? I'm scared shitless because I feel like it just isn't good enough.

The concept is pretty awesome! That said, I'd remove the cat/fox/wolf girls. That comes across as somewhat immature, and will probably turn a lot of people off what otherwise sounds like a really interesting story.

You could tell the same story, but have the cat/fox/wolf girls be an alien species or something, which gels much better with a tale regarding trafficking and the CIA. Aliens don't carry the same negative connotations as catgirls in terms of people making assumptions about your story, and it allows you to keep the fantastical element.

I wanted to mess around with a lot of anime tropes, especially as one of the characters who suffers a traumatic brain injury following an IED attack claims that he's "the main character of the story" and that the actual main character has a fox tail, which everyone just outright dismisses. Alongside that, I wanted to make the ex military characters grounded. Instead of the standard "tough guy operator"(which arguably there are) I wanted to make something that made them actual people(The MC has an adopted daughter that he's protective of, for example).

Nope. You're just fine. I'm doing this because when I was new, I didn't get to introduce myself and you can see that in my history list. It may be something little to regret on as a newcomer at that time as I missed the timing but I'll officially introduce myself once I finish a project I'm working on.

sorry I'm going to disagree there, it would really just depend on the tone of the story

It might be out of bias but CIA DID do MKUltra experiments to make Human animal hybrids and the documents are available for the public to read. they were trying to make super soldiers with every attempt ending in failure.
So I do believe its possible to make a serious toned story out of whats basically human experimentation and military coverups. Just cause there's a catgirl doesnt automatically make it immature. But it all depends on the tone they're going for.

The premise and themes sounds interesting, if a bit on the crazy side (not saying it in a negative way, i often work with unusual premises).....But the execution will be key to define how good a story is.
