I like both, but I prefer a cat over a dog, i had a dog when i was in grade school, but it was a not so good experience. It was mostly my mothers dog, she would spoil him and he would be aggressive towards everyone in the household. She got him from some knucklehead that she worked with (bottom-line: not a reliable breeder) i know he could be a great dog with the right owner, so we had to give him away to another guy. the good thing is that the guy was an outdoors person that hunter and such (the dog was a beagle).
After that experience, it really put me off from ever wanting a pet for a very long time, until one day i was walking to the library and a cute white cat came to me to be pet. it was SUPER friendly it had a pink collar and i think from that point onward i fell in love with cats, I've always wanted one.
All my friends have/had a cat some point in their lives and it just makes me want one.
I'll have a Cat character in my comic, her her best friend is a bird (ironic)!
Um. I disagree. Even with a good owner that takes care of their cats, a cat is still more low-maintenance than a dog. For one, if a cat is brought up by its mother it will be taught to use the litter box and/or bury its poop naturally, no housebreaking necessary like you need for a dog. Secondly, cats are much smaller than dogs, and they don't require the owner to physically walk them on a leash to get enough exercise. Playing with your kitty with a laser beam or fishing rod toys, or throwing toys for them is typically less time and energy intensive than a dog. All of the above can apply to an indoor cat. Yes you have to scoop litter but well you have to do the same for dogs when you walk them...
@danitasibert Woah! Nice artwork. Very impressed with the traditional art, keep up the good work! And thank you for sharing~ That cat sounded really cute! <3
I prefer cats in terms of how easy they are to train and how independent they are, (plus I've got two lovely polydactyl kitties that have been my partners in crime for fourteen years). That being said I like dogs too, dogs have a lot of love to give so, if I could, I'd have both.
If you want you can check out my webcomic! Mun is my leading lady (and kitty), and she can't not get roped into a magic roller-coaster nightmare. XD
@violin
I still disagree with that, to get an indoor cat the proper exercise you need to play with them for hours, while doggos take a nap in my experiences after 15-30 minutes, and that’s not counting the nightly zoomies. Cats also have a tendency to walk on you, while dogs would go around, so there’s less of a tiny elephant walking on your spleen. I’ve had doggos too, but driving them to a forest and chilling while the dogs run ( I’ve only had guard dogs, so they never go far from their owners ) is low effort at best. Not to mention training a cat takes way, way longer than a dog, so teaching them anything requires Nerves of steel. I trained all three of my parents dogs, and they all learned the basically before the half a year mark, my cat STILL tries to sneakily eat houseplants because she just doesn’t care :I Indoor cats are not low maintenance compared to small-medium dogs, they’re about the same. The effort just is in different areas when it comes to cats. Going out with the pet is not the only thing that measures maintenance... For example rabbits are way,way more high maintenance than the largest dogs just from the sheer amount of stuff you need to know regarding cages, exercise, food (which is dependant on the season lmao). It’s why there’s so many rabbits in shelters, parents get them for kids thinking they are easy but dear god they are not.
I had a dog growing up and I loved him so much...but I will never have one again. I adore my cat, I'm a feelancer and he is my only work buddy. He is supper funny, smart and I swear he understands what I'm saying...and chooses to annoy me anyway when he is told "no". He is also very needy...I wouldn't call him low maintenance since he is very bossy and owns my lap <3 He is very sick and needs expensive ass food, but I would spend it all for him.
There's also Nice cats/Bad dogs on Webtoons:
I love cats and like dogs. I grew up with dogs and I really liked it, mainly because I didn't have to take care of them, I just find them to be too needy and high maintenance which is so contrary to my parental instincts which are non-existent or very hands off. I like having them around but giving them back at the end of the day. I am a cat dad though! I love that little guy with all my heart.
I don't follow many cat or dog comic besides the super popular ones like Gamercat but that's it.
Cats! I love cats so much. Plus just got bit by a doggo this week so yes cats XD
They are fluffy and smol. I had cats when I was a kid but nowadays life is being busy. I won’t be able to take care of one. I wish I can have a cat as a per again one day.
I've had both dogs and cats growing up! I think I may have had 5 dogs throughout my childhood. And 12 cats xDNowadays, we have 3 family cats. I'd really love to have a dog again though. It's been so long. And I'd like to promote my cat-related comic, but unfortunately it's no longer updating, so it'd be pointless. Haha.
Can I add a few more cat comics? (one of which is mine...)
Dog comics are also available if you're into that sort of thing...
Of course! I can't read them all right now, but thanks for sharing!
I love dogs, but am very much a cat person I have always found animals to be better than people. This is my series, its still early stages, but there are plenty of kitties in it
Dogs master race. A cat is not gonna fight off a burglar, and where I live, I need a pet that can do just that. I don't have small dogs in high regard either, I like animals that can actually scare people off.
