Cats or Dogs? Also; CAT COMICS!

According to some studies, although cats beat dogs in sheer number, dogs are the preferred pet. Which means?

...

Cats are low maintenance.

So as you can tell, this thread is about... well, cats mostly. If you're a reader, let me know if you're more of a cat person or a dog person- or both! (Or neither... that's cool too. xD) (I like both, but I lean more towards cats since I don't have that much experience with dogs)

Also, got any cat-related series to share? Whether it be your own or other people's work, feel free to promote here! It can be of any genre, of any sub count. It just has to include cats!

My Cat Complex.
Mia has recently moved into an old neighboring house... only to find a very unique squatter! She calls him "Tom" and this young man has quite the feline personality.
Having such a person as your not-so-official roommate is sure to guarantee lots of zany adventures!

... Yeah, my comic is loosely based on cats. x'D There won't be an actual animal cat character appearing in the story for a little while...

SO! Yes! You person over there! Comic about Neko boys are allowed! Anthropomorphic cat people are allowed! Good question! Just try to keep the fetishes at a minimum, and make sure the comic revolves around the said character. Obscure background cat one-panel appearances do not count. ;D

I like both! I had a dog growing up and now I have a cat since we're in an apartment. They both have their pros and cons.

Cats - Pros: quiet, can leave them by themselves for long periods of time without recourse, comes potty-trained, takes on the smell of your clothes and stuff, cleans itself, floppy.
Cats - Cons: hard to travel with, can get into small places/places where they shouldn't go, litter box (cleaning, having to devote space to one, buying litter regularly)

Dogs - Pros: a good reason to go out on walks yourself and stay healthy, can take them places and play in new areas, eager to please, don't need much to keep one, sturdy.
Dogs - Cons: dog smell, can't leave them by themselves for too long, need training

I don't follow too many cat comics, the only one that comes to mind at the moment is

Oh yeah, I can definitely relate to both pros and cons of the cat...

Except mine has a prolonged issue with potty training. xD Occasionally she still does make a mess!

I like almost all animals, from lizards to birds, that includes both cats and dogs but i think i prefer cats.

They're generally more calm, they prefer to watch me draw rather than needing my attention for long periods of time, so they let me work more (except when they decide to sleep on the tablet and they won't leave). I like them so much, i have nine.

That doesn't mean i don't like dogs, sometimes what you need after coming home from school is this little guy panting and walking around you, like they're actually happy to see you.

Cats are only ”low-maintenance” because people are idiots incapable of showing empathy for a PET they didn’t pay anything for. As soon as the cat becomes annoying they just throw it outside to breed and disturb nesting birds WHICH IS A CRIME IN MY COUNTRY. A household cat is responsible for more species becoming endangered than any other animal (excluding humans since it’s 100% their fault)

I am not talking about people who like live on a farm and keep the cat around for pests, I’m talking about irresponsible assholes who live in suburbia or heaven forbid in a city who just let their cats Wander. You are literally taking a gamble with your pets life, eventually they will most likely be hit by a car or poisoned or tortured by the neighborhood kids =_=

All of that being said, I love cats and have one (who goes out in harnesses only). I just hate most cat owners. My pet bunny was almost killed by neighbourhood cat when we used to let her run in her enclosure inour_yard_ and the owners always poised as if it was somehow our fault that their cat tried to kill my pet =_=.After the 50th time I had to drag the cat out of my yard I drove it to a nearby shelter since the owners were too whatever to even chip the cat. Never saw it afterwards, faked ignorance to the owners 🏻

Yeah I can understand where you're coming from. I haven't heard that side of the argument that often, but I can totally agree. I know a lot of vets ask people to keep their cats indoors, and I keep mine inside as well.
Thanks for sharing! I've never kept a dog, so I can only go by what my parents and others say about having a cat/dog. There are a lot of dangers outside, and keeping cats indoors (not neglected, but safely indoors) can help both cats and other animals.

Oh she died in her sleep when she was 8 years old, so she was okay but yeah, people tend to argue that the cats destroy things if they aren’t let outside, but it can be attributed to the cat just being bored and frustrated. If you play with your cat enough they won’t have the excess energy to destroy your house. Also I trained my cat with a water bottle to stay away from high-risk things. (Curtains etc), only thing she refused to stop doing was eating certain houseplants (cloves and herbs) lol.

I love doggos too, but I always wanted a cat since we never had one growing up( whole family is dog people who hates cats) I can never understand how some people hate cats or dogs, I understand preferring one, but that doesn’t mean you need to dislike the other?? All pets are great 🤷🏼‍♀️

Yeah, my cat hasn't committed many things that people usually complain about... Most of the times, if something goes a little wry, it's usually our fault, and the solution just takes a simple adjustment. xD How did you train your cat with a water bottle??

People in my neighborhood also are against cats, and I think it might be because the feral ones outside give them a bad impression? I know one of my neighbors hate cats with a passion because of a similar reason you went through. (He was sheltering an orphan baby bunny; mom was attacked by a cat, I think.)

I mean a spray bottle! Everytime she’d try to climb/claw things she wasn’t allowed to I’d spray her once with the bottle.

I also taught her to shake hands for treats, it took MONTHS xD

dog person all the way, Man's best friend,,

my cat i had as a child despised children, especially infants, i remember 15 years ago having to tear her off my nephew who was just crawling at the time, she just tackled him, latched on and and repeatedly bit and scratched him, not playfully might i add

other than that, we did love her, what happened to her? no joke, she was sick and one day she got out and we basically never saw her again, she probably did the natural thing and died somewhere (animals will find a place to hide and die if they are sick) but because i never was fully sure, i didnt really cry (also, we lived out on a Native Reservation, a Canadian one. it wasnt that big of a risk to let your cat outside)

i did get to hear when my dog died tho and i do have fits to this day (shouldnt call them fits but its been 7 years, i got to stop grieving soon)
