Still trying to come up with more art discussion topics! This one smells like a series~
Anyway, what are your favorite design elements for loud, dramatic, dynamic hero characters? Personally, I go for the simple and bold:
I drew that 2 years ago, and I still reference it today (I'm still improving all the time, so for me, that's insane)! He just came out perfect~. Also, I am a sucker for long (red) scarves; every time I design a new hero character, I practically have to restrain myself from drawing another freakin' hero scarf...I just love them too much. They're like capes, but cuter~
Speaking of the hero scarf, here is my favorite inspiration, Ms. Hero Scarf herself:
All those sharp edges and spiky protrusions...that's my hero aesthetic~. I love Symphogear! Also, some more recent stuff I like:
I don't even know if I like Xenoblade 3, story-wise (I'm still trying to finish Torna, and I've decided not to form an opinion until after I'm done). But even if the characters are kind of dumb, I'll be damned if they aren't dynamic as hell. Masatsugu Saito is a genius...I want that figurine. I want to be that figurine when I grow up...hot damn...
