I wouldn't know the details of Burst Angel, the point was more general about the forced sexualisation and the imbalance, since BSD was already a long running manga and Bones didn't design the characters, simply over sexualised the women during promotion.
Everyone loves a giant scarf though.
It reminds me a lot of Revy from Black Lagoon, who if we ignore the general impracticality of dual weilding and the stylistic choices like having her shorts so ridiculously short in some shots, is reasonably practical for a fighter in Southeast Asia ie tropical and hot and humid climate. Certainly feels more sensible than the nuns or maids from the same series. Although Black Lagoon is fantastic for amazing women. I believe the creator once said they just like writing women that kicked serious ass and wrote it in a way that was a nod to the old over top action films.
Although much like the giant scarf example during one arc she shifts into an adorable but less practical skirt and either high heels or slightly heeled cowboy style boots depending on the version.
