I'm dying to do a character popularity poll, but as far as I can tell, you can't do polls directly on the story. So if you read Damsel, vote for your favorite character here (If I didn't put them on the poll, please vote in the comments) and when we hit 10k or 150 subs, I'll do a special bonus chapter from the most popular character's perspective. So also share some things you'd like to hear or see/know from their perspectives.

(I probably won't share spoilers, but ask away anyway, we'll see.)

  • Alicia
  • Kattar
  • Mrs. Moon
  • Andrew
  • Melissa Xochitl
  • Juana King
  • Jinho
  • The little girl with the umbrella

3voters

Choose up to 8 options

Votes are public.

Edit: We are now just 200 read away from 10k, which means 200 reads away from getting a bonus chapter from Kattar's POV this Friday! (as in, if we get 200 more reads before Friday we'll get 2 chapters this week.)

You can add a poll to an episode, I've done a character popularity vote before by using a poll maker, specifically this one: https://www.poll-maker.com/?src=takepoll2

Then I added the URL for the poll to the Creator comment section for an episode with a special graphic asking readers to vote for their favourite character.

no, the tapas website where we post our series doesn't have a poll feature. Only the forums has a poll feature.

Kattar has got to be my favorite so far! I love Alicia, but as we get the story from her perspective, we know a decent amount about her and her feelings. I would love to see Kattar's perspective of just about anything. even just his routine and thoughts, especially with all of the chnages in his life post-accident.

Everyone's been voting for Kattar, so it looks like he'll (unsurprisingly) be the one whose perspective we get to see. Now for me to figure out his unique narration voice, since I know it would be nothing like Alicia's.

I think a perspective on his own preparation for their first date may be a good one. They communicate a bit of their feelings during the date, but I think him getting ready would give the opportunity to explore his own feelings more. As well as give us a sense of how he's coping in his day to day life after the accident.

Congratulations on 100 subs and your new Patreon things as well!

That's a good suggestion. I'm planning to write a whole bunch of bonus chapters from his POV, but that might be a good one to start with, I'm seriously thinking about it know XD

And thank you, I'm super excited. I love writing to prompts, so I hope I can build a sort of blog like community on there where other people will write to the prompts and stuff like that. It would be so cool.

Do you have a Patreon by the way for your story? I haven't gotten to read either yet, unfortunately, but I'm still curious lol

Nope, no patreon yet. I don't really think I've got enough readers that would be interested, but it is definitely a good idea in the future. From what I've seen, it is hard to make any money from the community side of Tapas, especially in the beginning.
Writing to prompts is definitely fun and a little community of prompt writing sounds awesome!

Yeah, but you can post free stuff on Patreon too, that's just a fun way to engage with your viewers. That's what I'm trying to do with the blog like stuff. Currently it's writing prompts, tips, and also blog posts. It was my ex-partner's suggestion I start a blog, and Patreon actually works pretty well for that format.

I haven't been on Patreon at all actually so I going to have to check it out!

The prompt looks interesting for this week! I have no ideas so far, but I think I'm going to try and come up with somethng before next Saturday! It's been a while since I've written to a prompt

XD, that would be so cool. I'd love to see it if you do. I used to write to prompts a lot more. Last year I think it was, I went through the whole dictionary writing poems to alphabetical prompts XD. Then I moved on to other prompts, and I've written to prompts for a few competitions and challenges too

Wow, that sounds really fun! I wrote some random prompts for fun when I was in high school, but pretty much haven't touched a prompt in the last 3 years or so, so I'm definitely looking forward to it

Ahh, if you're interested in getting into competitions, there are a whole lot of those with themes. like the H.G. Wells Short story Competition. it's free to enter at our ages, and the theme changes every year. this year the theme is "The fool"

I'll have to look into it. I don't exactly have a lot of free time and writing is only a hobby for me at the moment, but entering a competition does sound fun! Plus a short story is a bit more manageable to write, time wise.

ofc, only do what it is you feel like doing, it's just to let you know (even though i'd be giving myself competition lol) if you're interested
