Chosen one bad guys

The "chose one" is a common trope used for the protagonist of stories but are there any stories where the bad guy is the "chosen one" and the protagonist isn't?

Darth Vader's case. He was originally the chosen one, back when he was a jedi.

I've read that in the video game series Overlord, the titular Evil Overlord Player Character was actually born a Chosen One, but the previous Overlord kidnapped him and raised him to become evil. Unlike with Anakin, it was a case of Gone Horribly Right given the Klingon Promotion that followed.

The Juggernaut is also technically an example, as he is the Chosen One of a god called Cytorrak, who just happens to be an evil god. You can probably find all sorts of examples if you go with that method. It all really depends on who's doing the choosing, y'know?

If you're only interested in Chosen Ones explicitly chosen by forces of good and nonetheless turn "evil," that's harder to find. Even Anakin might not count as an example given that the Force explicitly has a dark side. Ardyn Izunia of Final Fantasy XV might count, but it's still unclear whether he was actually chosen as opposed to "choosing" himself. Apparently, there's a good chance that'll be cleared up by year's end.

Oh absolutely. The most overused, at least back in the 1970's, 80's and 90's were the various depictions of the antichrist, a notable chose-one/prophesied baddie.

Edit: I guess what was supposed to make the antichrist(s) so frightening is that according to prophecy, you couldn't stop them.

Not all that evil? Vader was THE evil bad guy. Especially in the video games + Comic + Novels. In the Revenge of the Sith movie he killed ALL the younglings at the Jedi temple. Little kids he had helped train and he slaughters them. He tortures both his kids one way or another. Blows up a few planets. Murders thousands- millions of people...

As for other examples, the only other "chosen one" per say, that I can think of, might be Sephiroth in FF7. Although its not explicitly stated, he was created to be a powerful weapon, and not necessarily for evil, all to make Shinra the controlling force in the word. However, we all know how that turned out for everyone involved...

This is a really good question!

The only thing that comes to mind for me is Norse Mythology. The gods and other beings are fated to either kill or be killed on Ragnarok. So the enemies of the gods are the chosen one bad guys in a way.

Likewise... in Paradise Lost, Milton portrays Satan to be a chosen one bad guy because God knew all along that Satan would betray him, and let it happen so that Jesus could someday redeem humanity and all that stuff. Biblical historians call that "The Fortunate Fall" - i.e., if Satan hadn't rebelled and tempted Eve with the apple, there'd be no reason for Jesus to redeem anyone, which is the whole reason Christianity exists.

Okay yes from the outside Vader may seem like the most evil character ever (well maybe not but you get the point) and he certainly isn't good but it isn't all his fault. The Jedi's didn't like him because they sensed darkness. He became a sith not because he wanted to kill people but because he was told that siths had the power to save lives or give immortality or something like that. He didn't even want it for himself I think it was padma or however you spell it or someone. And to become a sixth you must be bad that's why he killed people. Also the dark side didn't treat him like shit as much. After he gets like almost killed and stuff and he's in his Darth Vader suit he has to kill to survive. The suit is powered by like dark energy or something. That's why he ends up dying. He dies of the wounds he got ages ago because he's not evil anymore and his suit stops working.
