For those who use Clipstudio paint;

I’m having trouble trying to download version 4 update on my tablet. I have version 3 of EX currently. Can someone who has done it please walk me through how it is downloaded?

I tried to go to the website and click the “download for tablet” option but then it just leads me to opening the clipstudio app to download in there. But then, when I open clipstudio and click the version 4, it opens the website. It’s a vicious cycle that I cannot seem to fix to actually download the latest version.

I may be wrong, but I think if you have an “owned” (IE, not subscription based) license, it is only valid for the generation that you bought, in your case 3.x. You may have to pay a fee to upgrade to generation 4.x, which is why it keeps directing you to the website.

Right but I’m not sure if I’m suppose to be paying for the update pass (which is where it’s going in circles) or if I have to pay full price for the update ($258) if I already owned version 3

That I can’t tell you, when I had CSP for a brief period I used the subscription plan. You might have to contact CSP directly

I don't use it on the tablet.

I use it on Windows. I know the desktop version. You can download from the app. Or you can get it from the official website.
I have been using CSP since it was called Manga Studio. I have perpetual license 1.0 when it came to update 2.0 and onward. I just paid the Update Pass in Canadian its $40 a year and it auto updates beyond the free security updates and all the new features and versions.

When I wanted to update my plan from 1.0.
I had to log into the app and add in the new code I got for upgrading to the Access Pass. It came in an email once I bought the subscription. Think I used the icon on the menu that says USE ACTIVATION CODE.

Once I did that, it worked fine. There have been tickets for some, always having issues with updating on different devices since 1.0.

Other options are upgrades from 3.0 to 4.0 which you have to pay too. Or buy out a new 4.0 perpetual license.

The link shows how to update and get 4.0 using many options in a nice clean colour organized chart. Just go to the bottom.
