Colouring? Can we REALLY be bothered?

I feel kinda lucky since I enjoy coloring process. I was really lazy to color any of my work before and wanted to learn watercolors, so I figured that the best way to learn was to commit to them for years. I agree that there are many comics that work just fine without colors, but I feel they give mine a special mood that couldn't be there if it was black and white.

I enjoy painting artwork and stuff, but coloring comics is such a huge pain! Frankly if you're doing a colored comic, I've noticed that using the scroll/vertical layout for your panels is easier: small sized panels and less number of panels as compared to horizontal pages.

... coloring takes me like 5 minutes. Shading and linework on the other hand is hell.

Honestly, coloring is my favorite part - I like seeing my scribbles become something with a little more substance. Not that I'm much good just yet, though. I've learned a lot just in the last few days of work on Superbia.

I don't mind coloring. I tried a colored page a few weeks ago and enjoyed it. I think I prefer screentones though. But I decided I'm going to throw in a colored page every once in a while ^_^

I don't even tone my comic. I literally just color my protagonist's hair gray and be done with it lol
