What're some comedians/funni people who've influenced your comic's humor? I'll go first:
First one is Zach Hadel. I love how he's able to create realistic situations in absurd environments. Whenever I write a story, I try to make the convos as realistic as possible. Not only that, but the insane amount of detail in his worlds are amazing. He didn't need to go that far, but he did. Because of that I try to add as much re-read value in a single story as much as possible. His newer work also creates this chill environment where everyone can enjoy.
Next is his inspiration, Norm MacDonald. What I love about him is how he was able to tell jokes without looking down on anyone... outside of celebrities who've done bad behind closed doors. If he were to make fun of something beyond that circle, it's usually something he respects or if he knows the person rather well.
In fact, one of the biggest rules I've taken from him is to not parody people you hate. I didn't think you can wind up venting/ranting instead of doing anything funny. Of course this doesn't apply to all people, but it's a trap that's easy to fall into. I also love how he's able to respect life and people. I remember this one time where he tries to talk to this heckler who was interrupting his show instead of throwing him out. He ends up taking him out for dinner to understand him. I wanted to add that level of understanding into my comics since it made me reflect on work that just tells trolls to "f off".
Also whoever wrote Saiki K. I don't know his name, but jeez that guy does cringe humor really well. He puts characters in really, REALLY awkward situations that makes you bang your head into a wall. Episode 4 of my comic actually has two moments where I tried to replicate well... not his style, but the feelings I got from watching his show.
