Comic Book Printing Companies?

Do any of you guys have a good quality comic book printing company that you have used? My old print company from China has really gone up in price, plus an extra $300 more for shipping to the US. That just hurts. I'd really appreciate any companies, big or small, that you guys think are good quality and affordable. Also must do perfect bound, my books are 136 pages, too many pages for saddle stitch.

I use Ka-Blam! Their site is a little confusing to use, but the books are great quality and super cheep.
Shipping takes forever though, unless you specially order books for a convention or something.

Thanks for your input. They seem to be pretty pricey though, almost double what my china company does them for. I'll keep looking though, thanks again!

Just ran the price quote calculator and Comix Well Spring is slightly cheaper than Ka-Blam.

I am hoping to find some book printing for no more than $5 a piece, kablam was like $11, quite out of my price range, and not really realistic for making much profit off the book sales, since that doesn't even account for shipping or other expenses that have to be cleared, but thanks for you guys' reply.

These are digital printing companies/ POD(print on demand). You can print as many or as little as you need. The ceiling with POD is that once it gets past a certain amount, you're spending too much.

Offset printing is expensive in its total cost($1000 and up for 1000 copies), but the "cost per book" breakdown makes it effective in certain zones.At 1000 books, you've basically bought the process of them making printing plates; some creators actually buy the print plates as well so that they can print their books again without having to pay that fee again(handy when you need to print certain books again).
