Comic creators with mature content. How do you censor your NSFW? Drop your links!

Hi guys,

So I am creating a comic that has a couple of NSFW scenes, I would like to know how you censored your NSFW scenes to have an idea of what I can post on Tapas given their guidelines. Please drop the links to your comics so I can take a look. I will drop a like on your first few episodes as a way of saying thanks.

I don't really bother censorring them. I just put a "mature" warning a the beginning of the first episode, and of course I officially list my comic as such according to Tapas's guidelines.

That said, I also stick to violence and the occasional swear as being the reason for the mature rating.

I've got two series with mature content
for one I use mosaic (which was a standard back when I joined this site)

and cut out parts of pannels for the other

though take not that neither of them is available on the app (got contacted by tapas stuff to up the censorship but I decided not to bother)
also there have been some creators whose work didn't really need to be marked as mature but got contacted by tapas to censor their stuff to ridiculous degree (covering any instance of bare chested guys and even implied nudity for example) so at this point, I don't know how much is allowed (if you're not a premium author of course

)

Yeah, so app store rules keep updating, thus I'm unsure of what is acceptable for app at the moment.
I could show you my series, but how it was censored was by a standard that was implemented a couple of years ago and I don't think that will be the standard in the near future.

Heavy Horns is still allowed on desktop though.

I just adds me an M warning. I also tried to obscure Oreiels nudity. To avoid the damned censors.

Yeah, the app stores don't allow pubic hair to show (which was actually one of the first rules to be instated with this whole censoring thing funnily enough). And I guess that counts as its below the navel. xD

I choose low observability angles and maybe some tactically placed houseplant

On the more serious story, since I really don't want the sex scene to be about the sex, I just used positioning to cover up the deed. That said, I did show genitals every once in a while.

for Classic Fantasy, I don't care as much, if a dong shows up a dong shows up, but I'll probably be covering up the same way, just so it doesn't become daunting.

I don't censor my language at all, or blood, but I limit the amount of straight up gore. There's a particularly brutal scene on pages 7-10 of Heaven Hunters Issue 3 that I limited the same way that a film would, by implying it more than showing. The violence isn't the point, after all, the emotional state of the characters is the point. Gore tends to steal the spotlight away from your characters if used haphazardly.
