Comic Font Size

Hello everyone,

I'm hoping you can help me: I'm doing the lettering for my comic series, but I've been told that the font is too small.
I did some research and 6.5-7.5 seems to be standard for online comics. Is that right? What font size do you use? Any help would be really appreciated!

My font is A.C.M.E Secret Agent and I use size 5.

For me, 6.5-7.5 would be too big with this font

My font is mv boli regular and about 4 to 8 is what I use 6 being standard, 4 and 8 being whispers and screams respectably

Depends on the font you're using. Not every dialogue font works at a certain size; sometimes you may have to move up a point size or down a point size.

Like Shanny said, it really depends on your font.
Size isn't the only factor either, leading is very important.

It's best to publish a test page and try and view it on a number of devices to see how well it reads.

For fonts that I use myself, I'm not really sure what size they'd be in the web-published file. I always put in type in my original large files and then size the whole document down. But as a basis, 8.5 x 11 in at 300 dpi I use 24 pt Humana Sans all in small caps.

I agree that it depends on the font =) I use Laffayette Comic Pro for my manga Remember - 11 pt =)

As a heads up, if you are using Creative Cloud at all with a subscription, you will actually have access to some of the really useful paid Blambot! fonts

I only recently found out also. (Fun fact: as a result my comic changes fonts after chapter 1 haha!)
