Comic text font help

I have just become aware that the text I use in my comic isn't for commercial use, meaning that if I ever sold copies of my comic, I could get sued and selling my comic is something I'd like to do one day! So does anyone know any fonts I can use that I won't be sued for that works well in comics???

Most fonts you have to buy a license for if you are going to be using them for profit. If you don't have the cash to buy a license you can always create your own font using this website http://www.myscriptfont.com/. It's REALLY simple and it gives your comic a more personal feel, and that's how it was done back in the 60s.

You can do a search for free/public use fonts on dafont.com! It's how I find a lot of the ones use. Just double check to make sure that it IS free for commercial use.

They have awesome comic fonts and their usage policy is great for indie creators:

I think most font downloading sites have an option to select only free-for-commercial-use fonts in your search results.

Oh, and ALWAYS read the "readme.txt" files! Different font creators have different rules and permissions for their fonts.

He has fonts that you can use for free- on your comic, and you have permission to use them if print as well. His free fonts are intended for indie comic creators.

+1 on Blambot! And they usually have sales, which is a great time to buy some new & fancy fonts (I think the licensed ones have support for umlauts if I want to do some comics in Swedish too)! I bought a license for a font for like $20 over there, and I use it for most of my stuff =)

Normally Blambot's pay fonts are pretty affordable...but he does have a 10% discount code(on the home page) that you can use EVERY TIME you buy a(or some) font(s). He also usually has a 30% off sale around Black Friday(the holiday shopping Friday after Thanksgiving). Yeah with the pay fonts, once you pay for it(the license), it's yours to basically use however you want.
