Comic Wingman (looking for an Artist)

So my friend is writing a comic (really neat one at that) but needs to find an artist. I know he should be the one asking but he's pretty stubborn. So think of me as hie... comic... uh... "wingman" yeah. so looking for an artist who is really good and can do stuff like fight scenes, backgrounds, weapon designs, (obviously characters) and other shounen-esque things. you also have to be able to put up with him, as he can be a little weird some times xD

If you friend is looking for an artist, he really does need to ask himself. He needs to post information about the story, and also things like the desired update schedule and expected length of the comic.

Also, if he wants someone 'really good' then he should be prepared to pay them for it, as it's very unlikely they won't have plenty of projects of their own to work on, or even other clients willing to pay them.

If he needed a comic wingman because he was nervous or has some difficulty communicating, then that's probably understandable. But because he's stubborn..? Kinda makes us question his want to work with someone in the first place. There have been several others searching for artists and writers in this forum and many have expressed that it's rather difficult to do so because many of us here are occupied with our own stories. But it's not impossible. Your friend might get a better chance of finding someone if he did the asking himself. After all, he knows his own story best.

Right now, there's not enough information to spark interest in artists and I am definitely uncertain if he's the kind of person I would want to work with lol. Think of this as a job interview-- not a blind date. You gotta do what it takes to earn our trust and get us interested in working with you. Otherwise, It won't be fun for both parties and you won't get a decent comic done.

Talk to him again. If he really did write an amazing story then it would be a waste if it never saw the light of day

Well knowing what the story is about might help ._. Just saying that the story is neat isn't really going to draw someone into it unfortunately. And for the fact he is "stubborn" as you put it, raises a red flag especially the "willing to put up with him" sentence. If this is a non pay project then it needs to be fun for both parties and the way you worded it to me doesn't sound like your friend would be fun to work with...it actually sounds like working with him would be a chore...which could be the total opposite but just the way it's put makes it sound that way.

I'm sorry sorry sorry!!! I realize I should have been more professional about this, kinda wrote this up when I first woke up, so not exactly the prime of my day, as far as thinking before i act goes. He's kinda nervous, because he doesn't really know how to go about getting an artist, I kinda wanted to help. but it seems I didn't quite represent him too well. and the whole "willing to put up with him" thing, that's how he is to me, but we're like bros. I don't think he would be like that to a business partner. I will add some info on the story in a bit, gotta go tell him i goofed up :/ Sorry again if I made it sound like he was difficult to work with. (sorry xP)

Okay so he's nervous, now that I can understand! However finding a good artist is going to be hard if it's a non pay project just fair warning because most of us don't really like working for free unfortunately. But it's not impossible, this thread may be able to help you.

A tip: Use one or two popular movies/comics/tv shows to explain what kind of story you're writing.

It'll convey your idea faster, and it's good art direction for anyone who might be willing to work on the comic.
