Comics in full colour or monochrome?

For what I'm reading? I don't care as long as the artist uses it effectively. For what I'm drawing myself, I prefer working in full colour. I enjoy it too much to stick with monochrome for too long.

I don't care which when reading. My personal comics are black and white for speed purposes and because bad color can ruin art. Also I suck at color theory and colors.

I truly don't have a preference when reading. When creating, I prefer to do full color, it just feels more immersive.

I don't have a personal preference, so long as the style is consistent and the artwork works for the story that's being told.

As a reader it makes no difference to me as long as the image is still legible. As an artist, I do both, but generally I keep my more serious comics in black and white.

I started with monochrome, but I later tried adding a slight hint of colour, and I like the results so far.

I'm fine with either, but I do like color online a bit more, and black and white better in print.
You can mess up a comic with bad color but I think it's true for black and white with screen tones as well.

I like doing comics in monochrome (i am doing something like a traditional manga hhuhuhuh) but I would like to do some pages in colour. Need to practice colour theory...!!!

Correct! Too much screentones can eat up your lines and then one has no idea what's going on.....

I think working in full color is time consuming but gives an extra dimension to the comic.
At first, it did take me forever to finish a colored page.
I am starting to get the hang of it now...

I'll definitely try different styles of coloring in the future.
Maybe using paint brush textures or just a limited color palette...

I have a intense love for monochrome. I pretty sure it's from years of reading and collecting manga but I just love good black/white space. That said, I love reading color comics too (but less so colored manga for some reason- unless it's a special colored page I love those because they are like a treat for the readers).

I hope to created colored webcomics on the side one day but atm I want to focus on my manga pages.

I grew up with black and white comics so I guess they hold a certain sway for me. Color can be pretty powerful but only when it is done well and carefully designed.

I have no immediate preference - it all depends on the individual comic.

Some artists are amazing at black and white, and the comics they create use that super-effectively. Others work miracles with colour. It all depends on the end-result, really. They both have their individual strengths and weaknesses.

I've drawn comics in every part of the spectrum - full colour, limited colour, greyscale, purely black and white linework, etc. - and I've made those choices based on time-constraints, style and content.

But there are some monochrome comic I enjoy too, especially if it works for that world (the past, steampunk etc.)
And I do like black and white if the contrast is very good.

It doesn't matter, but sometimes it can be effective and useful to use color - often when I read (especially manga) I get confused when I don't know who's doing what because of 1) characters looking alike 2) camera angle changes position to much too fast 3) if a panel doesn't show the whole face or maybe just the hands I can still easily see who's doing what if it's in color and all of these things are much harder to read if it's in black/white. Sometimes it doesn't matter at all, I've read Bone in both black/white and in color and both are just beautiful!

As a reader, I like both, though with some full colours comics I can stare for hours at their pages

For reading, I don't really care if it's color or not.

For my own comic art, I like to do color because that's how my art looks best. I've done a lot of art where the picture makes me cringe until I add the colors. Lol
